we love it down there too
we've been going to the Venice so long, it feels like the kids have grown up there!
also it's handy for me to leave OH and kids in the Venice while I nip off for a nice cool shop later on - great nights had by all

The canal is magical of an evening.
I would say best buy's are both t.towels and bath towels. Also some good deals on Silver.
T.shirts always a must as well.
Enjoy shopping.
