first time i went to turkey with my family was about 5 or 6 years ago. we were stoping just outside Side on the med coast, got up one morning after a heavy beer fueled night and an early morning kebab with a desperate urge to go. As no one had told us about the wheel but had told us about the bin that is what i did, however the bowl was a little messy, (sorry about this) so i got the little brush and gave the bowl a quick clean, on putting the brush back in to its holder i caught the little wheel turning it fully on with me standing straight over the top of it, i was absolutley bl**dy drenched. O well you live and learn

Haven't looked at this until now - thought it would be a boring discussion but I have howled my way through it. My motto is - if I don't know what it's for don't touch it - I've never seen this wheel - supose I'm not in there long enough for my eyes to wander. Even so I doubt I'd have touched it. I've never heard people on holiday talk about it either. We take nappy sacks - perfumed of course. always leave a good tip for the cleaners so my guilt is somewhat reduced. Can't wait to see one now.

I will be flushing my paper down the loo as always, over the past 14 years of visiting icmeler, i was never told to put my loo paper in a bin, i thought this was a greek thing, also having many turkish friends that we visit every year in there homes, i can assure you that they dont put there paper in any bin :!:

When I first went to turkey, when I was 14, which is about 12 years ago on the coach the rep used to tell everyone not to put toilet roll down the loo and use the wheel, but I did notice a few years back the reps they dont mention it anymore. I just thought everyone knew about it hehe

20 years ago, myself and 3 mates went to Cofu on holiday. In our apartments i needed a piddle but the toilet was occupied ,my mate Gerry shouted come in iam only washing my hair , when i opened the door he had his head shoved into the bidet. What the hell areyou doing i shouted .He replied in a knowlegeable voice ,there is no shower hose in the bath these are the same as the sinks in the ladies hairdressers.

To this day he still answers to the nickname S***h***
