Sorry to be negative but i think its horrible, cheap and tacky looking. Its Icmeler not ancient Rome.

May get used to it but a little disapointed, sorry

Its a shame, i liked the old wooden bridges and the broken slab walkways...I think Genes Blackpool April 1st joke may be a step nearer reality

Why make it look like Rome? it doesnt make it more attractive, it takes away the charm. we all love icmeler for what it is...you dont need to mess with it.

I think I'll reserve judgement until I see it "in the flesh", but if they're going to put swanky lights on top of those "Roman" columns it will probably be quite attractive by night!

I think the prom looks great, its not just Rome that has pillars, I think it looks extremely Turkish but then again I haven't been to Rome.

the new prom

Postby marjorie arnold » 07 Apr 2008 22:27

I think the actual pavement needed to be leveled but why did all the lovely plants bordering the beach need to be removed? From what I have seen the new prom looks cheap and tacky and it will be interesting to hear more views from the locals.I must say that last year when we went I was pleased to see that the bridges had been improved but I think that was all it needed

Hmmm not sure what to make of this - very reminiscent of Gene's Benidorm beach sculptures
Are we sure he's not branching out ??
