Efes Hotel Closed??

Postby sirkyboy » 07 Jan 2008 12:08

I was just in the process of booking this years trip to Icmeler, and have been told by the travel agent (I assume from other posts i'm not allowed to mention them) that this hotel has closed.

I find it strange that they had the hotel on thier website, only a few days before I went to book, but it has now gone from there also, and the hotel sent us a christmas card, saying that they had renovated for 2008 and installed better air con etc.

My question anyway is, does anyone on here know if this hotel has closed, or are the travel agents trying to pull a fast one becuase they have stopped dealing with them?

Also I cannot find any other travel agents dealing with this hotel. Gutted if they have closed.

Thanks

I have heard that the tour operator who had the contract up until now has pulled out, probably due to all the complaints about air con etc, they are maybe in talks during winter with other tour operators, this is maybe just hearsay though, just relaying what i have heard.

Wouldn't imagine the hotel is closed though.

Efes Inn Hotel Closed ??

Postby janden » 07 Jan 2008 18:24

Hi all Icmelerites, This hotel is exclusive to one Travel Agent & I believe that over this winter floors 1-4were to be upgraded & the air-con renewed, the top floor was all new last year.
If the agreed work is not carried out the Travel Agents may omit the Hotel from brouchers until the work is carried out.
We stayed last year & the air-con was non existent.

The plot thickens.

Just had an e-mail back from the manager at the Efes saying they are still dealing with said travel agent.

Think it is time to try a different branch.

I think that if you tried another branch of the said Travel agents the result would be the same i.e. that the Efes Inn would not appear on the screens.

I Have e-mailed their head office, see what response I get from them.

I'm rather peeved with them to be honest, and don't know how this sits with forum rules, but is there any way of booking this direct, or though this site?

It's crazy, can manage to book a multi destianation trip to America, yet can't manage to get myself a flight and a hotel in little old Icmeler, grrrr!! So any help gratefully appreciated.

Is there a special reason you want to stay at the Efes Hotel? The Blue Rainbow is next door to it and in my opinion a much better hotel ?

We just really liked it there, and I am a bit of a funny bugger about staying at Hotels. If I have been somewhere before and like it, I try to go back to the same place, better the devil you know and all that.

Having read different review sites Some hotels that sound really good, then get the odd crap review and it makes me think hmmm, maybe it is not such a nice place.

It seems that we might not be staying here, so I saw that hotel on the site and it looked the mutts, so this may be option 2. How do I go on about booking through this site, becuase Travel Agents are starting to get on my nerves now. :-)

Just go to our main webpage and click on the accomodations and it will give you a list of all the properties we deal with, including some videos and photos. If you do not want to book on the site you may contact John on 0151 289 3939, where he can also arrange all your flights and transfers.

Good luck and look forward to seeing you in Icmeler.

When Colette says she has a few favourite places to stay she really means that there are only a few places left that will let her stay

Sirky i stayed in the Efes in August last year, i would say it was ok, i wouldn't go back unless i was guaranteed a new room on top floor with air con,the amount of complaints when we were there was unbelievable.

The Blue Rainbow is right next door and it's pool is far superior to that of the Efes Inn, infact i used the Blue Rainbows pool quite a few times and had lunch etc there.

As for the review sites, what one person likes maybe someone else doesn't i guess it's all down to the individual, i always read reviews before i book a hotel and if there's a few bad ones i don't let it put me off. I think some reviews are over the top people moaning because the hotel doesn't give you Kellogs cornflakes or the bath towels had small holes in them.

Anyway i am sure if you look about you will find a hotel in Icmeler that ticks all your boxes!

Happy holiday hunting! :D

Sirkyboy
know just what you mean - we tend to think if it's not broke, don't fix it which is why we've ended up staying at the same place for the past 7 visits!

am sure you'll find something just as good, if not better though so good luck and whatever else ... enjoy

Been discussing it with my wife, and we are going to check out the blue dolphin, because don't seem to be getting anywhere said travel agent.

On a side note, This is one of the friendliest forums I have been on for years.

Are you meaning The Blue Rainbow?
Colette

Postby sirkyboy » 10 Jan 2008 12:08

Yeah, I meant Blue Rainbow, I'd had a long day yeaterday.

I was trying to find reviews of the blue dolphin on blooming Google, and it kept bringing up the caravan park near Bridlington. Was about half an hour, until i came back on here, and found the correct name.
