Just a quick question.....

Postby fatblokecaver » 05 Jan 2008 18:52

Hi all,
Having been to Icmeler for the past 12 years we feel that it is our 2nd home, holiday wise.
I was browsing the message boards not so long ago I noticed a post that said there is a 'trip' (probably the wrong word) to the local orphanage available.
Having adopted 2 children (from UK) we were thinking that a visit to the local orphanage would be nice, especially if we are ladened with soft toys or what ever they need. Yes we would want to take them all home but at least we would be putting something back.
Can anyone let me know how to go about making a visit when we are in Icmeler?
If it is not possible could ICR start a donation fund or sponsor a child thingy to enable us all to help where we can.
Cheers

I think if I remember rightly from speaking to Sharon in Icmeler, there were/are some plans for ICR to look into this area more, but John/Sharon or Rami will tell you more. :D

Thanks for the info - we would like to visit the orphanage if we are back in Icmeler this year. It would certainly be a 'different' trip.
Does Mugla orphanage have any promotional stuff or are they funded from the government?
Are the children who are there all disabled or are they a mix of homeless disabled and orphans?
On the visiting side of things will ICR have to vet people - there is a huge can of worms that could be opened here, or will the visitors just be families or couples?
Sorry for all of the questions just need to know.
