Eastenders

Postby ayse » 11 Jul 2005 18:50

Hi All
Just incase anyone is interested there is a new nightclub called Eastenders which is a lot cheaper than Pleasure. The only drawback is that if you don't know about the foam party you can get caught up in it (like I did). I must admit I have never laughed so much for ages I was like a walking Candyfloss!! It is run by Eric from Friends (the one near the banks). We went a few nights and it was good fun so anyone looking for a late drink in Icmeler try Eatenders. It is right next to the Police station. Have fun

Hiya what night was the foam parties on, just so we can make sure we dont get caught unexpectadly.

Eastenders is now what used to be the Buffalo Disco, just incase anyone remembers it.

Eastenders

Hi
Every night normally starts about 3.45 am. You don't need to be actually caught up in it as they cordon it off but you will need to be careful leaving as the floor is really slippy. I was only caught once and then watched on whilst everyone else joined in. It was a laugh though

Hi Keisha lucky you
Were you there in July? We are coming back in September, can't wait. No doubt a few nights in Eastenders will be on the cards.

In all fairness, I was pleasantly surprised by the music in this place; thought it would be the usual Dale Don Dale/Summerjam/even Cha Cha Slide (of which there is now the long-awaited Part 2). Although the usual suspects were here, including this summer's favourite (dance version of California Dreamin'), there was indeed enough diversity to keep everyone happy.

But the thing is, my night spent here was on the whole a disappointment. Walked in, and it was virtually empty, with only a few recognisable Turks with girls they'd managed to woo into the club. Free entrance, brilliant, but I was correct in my prediction of my first (and only, as it turned out) bill: 4YTL for a small bottle of water. Ludicrous pricing, perhaps not a surprise.

It was comical to watch the various characters go about their nightlife in this den of inequity: single middle aged women, pairs of young girls, underraged drinkers by some years, pensioners well past their retirement age, sights best left buried on Icmeler beach (or even in the surrounding mountains), and of course, as usual, the many local vultures, many of whom stand on the dancefloor literally glaring at some girls who may serve some potential physical satisfaction.

Surrounded by perverts and upforit victims of holiday romance, I and the party I was with decided to leave at 0330, afraid that the foam might make it a night to remember.

Moral of the story: hitch a ride through to Marmaris, and enjoy Bar Street instead.

Hahaha I totally agree with the last post.

I deleted some of the duplicate posts by the way and you are definitely spot on with your description of the said bar as far as I am concerned.

That doesn't sound like a description of the bar :? Sounds more like a description of the people in it to me :? :?

It is a description of the people. The people who frequent the club. Surely this plays a big factor in the atmosphere and all?

Ha ha ,Hi Gene,
I really admire people who have got more get up and go than me,and you I think have PLENTY. :D :D :D :D
but seriously,we are all entiltled to do or go where we want in life, without some people saying that a place is rubbish because, people that they regard as NOT NORMAL,happen to frequent the said place.SO WHAT if pensioners enjoy going to night clubs,SO WHAT if single women of a certain age like to also go to nightclubs,SO WHAT if there are young Turks with young girls that like to go to nightclubs,SO WHAT if pairs of young girls like to go to nightclubs.WE ARE ALL ON HOLIDAY,AND CAN DO WHAT WE WANT.

Yes, opinions do indeed vary. Meaning I'm allowed mine; and allowed it without a whole bunch of offended folks jumping on me for describing Eastenders as how I saw it. What I did choose to initially leave out, but won't in this case, is the fact that many of the people in the place were clearly on drugs. I don't have a problem with single middle-aged women. I get them on a night out at home too; but it dents the morale to share a nightclub with a bunch of them when they are absolutely pilled off their heads.

Yes, as I said, the music was quite good, as far as repetitive mainstream tastes go, which is why I was able to dance until half three. Perhaps I should also mention that I entered the place at ten past. I only lasted twenty minutes; nothing compared to what a good old pensioner or two can last. Oh well.

How do you old party poopers find this place in comparison to Bar Street? Assuming, of course, that you've all been.

We old party poopers have no need to go to Bar Street as all the entertainment we require is in Icmeler,if I chose to holiday in Marmaris I may visit said street but I have heard it is quite expensive so being on a meagre pension would rule this out.

10 out of 10 though for your powers of observation, that in 20 minutes you can have a place and its people sussed out, know who the poppers are
the gigolos and I suppose everyone over 25 is after a good time.

Interesting   NOT But i find it comical that you decide wether to frequent a place based on the people in it? Maybe you would be better in Faliraki then

And on an even larger scale in Marmaris- If you like Bar Street so much choose a holiday to suit your style- I don't think Icmeler matches your needs.
