I think there's 2 called Alinda - one in the centre - down towards the beach and the other in old village. I was looking for hotels myself and found some bad reorts. Mind you, I found bad reports about nearly everywhere I've been - and you're right some people want everything.
I suppose it's really down to what makes it bad - if it's food well there's loads of places to eat. If it's a small pool or no sun - there's loads of bars/hotels with pools to use instead. If it's personal safety that's another thing isn't it? I'd tell you friend to ask for a move but let her know it could be expensive. It's probably cheaper to find a hotel yourself than go through tour reps anyway. I'd make sure she knows where the ICR office is - they've got some great properties if things were that bad.

There's loads for her to love anyway. Hope she has a great holiday
