do we need injections for icmeler turkey

a couple of our friends have been to icmeler for there holidays for years now and are telling us that they always get injections before they go
is this necesary

If your friends feel peace of mind by having injections I dont see any problem, are they necesary in Icmeler and I would say no.

When we travelled to Side in Turkey 10 years ago we were advised to have injections these we had, but Side is a long way from Icmeler.
When I asked about injections for Icmeler I was told there was no need.

we had the injections 10 years ago for altinkum but have never been to turkey since
just as well we dont need them again cos we go in 21 days !!!!! yippeee

Can honestly say in all the years I have been to Turkey I have never had the injections

Which injections do you mean? Our G.P. told us to keep our baasic injections up to date. ( Hep A, Tetanus, Polio). This is good advice for England, Turkey or anywhere else. I hadn't realised that these injections didn't last all your life.

Hi we had Hep A tetanus and polio last year, the nurse told us that these would last for 10 years. We were advised to have them to be on the safe side, our friends did not have them last year and she has had nothing but chest infections since she got back, this had started while in Turkey, we have made them have them this year, it may just be a coincident with the chest infections but I would have them especially if you have got kids.

I have anything I am advised to have a you just don't know what can happen over there.

I normally take my whole medicine cabinet with me but this year i missed out the throat spray and gues what I had a throat infection it started on 21st May and I am still suffering with it now I just cant seem to get the Icmeler bug out of my system :lol:

I have never had injections or been advised to have them but when my mother went earlier this year she was advised to have them and did.I put that down to the fact she's 77.

I am 42, I went to see the doctor who looked on the list for upto date injections in Turkey he said i needed Polio Typhoid and Tetanus

did you go in May, I did and there was a bug in Icmeler aparently, but i think i caught it off the planes airconditioning, i had a chest infection and still suffering now

No Sue I went last August. I have told you I go in four weeks sooooooooooooooo excited, I have been waiting patiently while everyone else tells us how their holiday was lovely, well it will be my turn to do that soon.
