Fried Icecream

Postby sanjo » 22 Jun 2007 11:40

Has anyone tried fried icecream? We tried it for the first time this year.
It is delicious but be warned you will feel rather fat and full after eating it. You can have it with a honey, strawberry or chocolate sauce. Mmmmm!

I would suggest you share one unless you are married to a greedy pig like I am

Best Fried Ice cream I ever had was at the Chinese restaurant at the Marina in Marmaris.

Was so good we went back on three occasions for more :D

Any idea how it's made?

Ooooh I had fried Ice cream at the Lighthouse restaurant, it was absolutely gorgeous but soooo filling! Best to save it for the end of your holiday I think!

Apparently they get a large scoop of really hard frozen icecream, coat it in a thin batter and drop into extremely hot oil for 5 seconds. At the lighthouse it just comes drizzled with gorgeous chocolate sauce. Delicious!!!!

Never had it in Turkey but have ate it in Penang, Malaysia. There they take 2 very thin slices of bread, place the ice cream in the middle, dip it in egg, quickly deep fry it and then put syrup on top. Its a delicious treat and when the humidty is too much too eat anything else at night we have been known to have this as a meal. The first time a friend and I shared one but after that no chance, one each of course.

must admit my waistband was a little tighter when we got home.

Dont know if it was the fried icecream to blame or too many EFES :)

(or it could of been both)
