Hi just wondered if anyone can help me. Our friends in Turkey have asked us to take them some bacon when we go on Thursday. Are there any restrictions on how much you can take and what is the best way of transporting it. Thanks alot :D

Hiya

You can take bacon over, the best way to do it is buy it vaccum packed and greeze it. Just before you are about to set off for the airport, pack it in your case between clothes and it will stay cold untill you get to turkey as the bottom of the plane is cold and will keep it cold the whole journey. Alternatively, put the bacon in cool bags and use that as your hand luggage. If you gte stopped by customs fob them off with a story about staying in self catering apartments and staying for a long time. Personally i would stick the bacon in my suitcase as they hardly ever stop you to search your suitcase (well they havent with me anyway)

Hope this helps. Good luck

If you are going to buy bacon vacuum packed don't freeze it as there is not need because it should have a long life because it is vacuumed, but by freezing it once defrosted it has to be used straight away.
