Sad to be back

Hi Everyone

Well that’s another holiday over.

After a bumpy start due to being told 2 days before going the hotel I booked a year ago was overbooked and we were being moved wasn’t the best start to the holiday.

Arrived in Hisaronu for the first week (after 11 years of going to Icmeler thought I we should try something different) first thought was oh God what have I done.

Hisaronu is very small compared to Icmeler it only has one main road with bars/restaurants and shops. This road gets closed at nighttimes which I thought was a really good idea. First night there we tried a restaurant called the Peking looking at the menu I thought I recognise this YES it was the same as the one in Icmeler which cheered me up as I was able to get my favourite dish.
When we were walking along the road we heard someone calling us it was Morat who was the front man for the Peking Icmeler he has now opened his own bar with his brothers. Funny we went to Hisraonu to try something different then end up eating in same restaurants and drinking with old friends.

Went to Olu Deniz nothing there really except the lagoon that you see in every brochure.
Six days were long enough there I couldn’t wait to get to Icmeler.

Drive from Hisaronu to Icmeler was lovely, normally we arrive in the dark and go home in the dark so you don’t really see anything

Then I saw it the ICR banner saying “Welcome Home” my heart took a flutter.

Arrived at the Aqua hotel where we had been shifted to as Devamli was overbooked!!! They didn’t know anything about us and we had to wait until everything was sorted out.

The Aqua Hotel is beautiful and has everything you could wish for Gym (yeah right) Turkish baths, beautiful pools and the rooms are lovely but to get the benefit from this hotel you shouldn’t really go out and just stay there for the duration of your hols.

THE BIRTHDAY BOY
Ged’s birthday went well friends took us to Asparan for Turkish breakfast and at night we went to Kingsland where they had his table all decorated with balloons and a bottle of wine. They really made his big 50 special and the strawberry birthday cake was lovely.

Went to all our usual haunts and had a great time. Only problem with being there a week is you cannot fit in all the lovely restaurants you want to.

Lovely report Lynn.
Its good to try something different even if it just proves to yourself you cant do any better than what you have already got.
I can imagine that lump coming into your throat when you saw the ICR banner.
Because Icmeler is family to so many of us and as the banner says.

"WELLCOME HOME"
