Anyone ever hired a car in Icmeler?

10 Jun 2007 14:32

I'm wondering if anyone has hired a car while they've been on holiday in Icmeler. If so what's the driving conditions like? Would you recommend it and where's the best places to see? My friend's husband likes to get out and about and enjoys driving so he's considering hiring a car while we're on holiday. I told him I would ask on the forum to see if it would be worthwhile or whether we would just be better booking up a few organised trips. We would probably book a couple of boat trips over and above anyway if we did hire a car. Are fishing trips available? All advice gratefully received. The countdown is on for us now.
Cheers

Hired a car once, through Ali under ICR travel office. But i didnt do the driving! If you are used to driving abroad then shouldnt be a problem. Petrol prices are not cheap though so worth keeping in mind. There are some great trips to go on and you tend to see more if you arent driving! ICR do a new one which goes to Gokova Akyaka etc not been on it but heard its very good. That will take you to some places that other tour companies dont.

Hope this helps!

It would take a brave man to drive thro Marmaris, I've sat in pavement cafes on the dual carraigeway and watched in amazment at some manouvers the locals do, but they dont seem to have many accidents.

We have hired a car several times and the more you do it the easier it becomes! After driving up and down the mountain to to and from Turunc Marmaris is a doddle!! We have driven to Dacta which is well worth the trip for the fantastic views and on our last holiday drove to Dalyan. Also Akyaka is less than an hour away with a lovely sandy beach.

Hi, I drove to Datca a few weeks ago and it's a great drive. Once you get out of Marmaris it's a doddle.
