Icmeler/Mersoy Exclus. hotel suitable for wheelchair users?

Postby dn852k4 » 11 May 2007 22:45

My girlfriend (currently in a wheelchair due to a bad back) and I are considering a week in Icmeler. We've seen a good deal on the Mersoy exclusive hotel and was wondering about it's suitability for wheelchair users?

Possibly stupid questions, but I'll fire away..

Does the Mersoy excusive have lifts?

What is the access like from hotel to pool area, any steps?

" " " eating area?

How about Icmeler in general? Is it flat, or are there a lot of hills/slopes?

Thanks in anticipation. :)

I wouldn't say it is suitable if you intend to use the pool area as that is across the road in the Mersoy hotel

The Blue Rainbow will be better suited

Hi Sorry to hear about your girlfriends back.We stayed at the Mersoy (not exclusive) with our friend in Sept 2005 who has a wheel chair and used his crutches. It was great as they have lifts and there are steps to get into the pool.
The staff were very helpful when our friend needed his chair, before he had even stood up the guys were there ready with the chair to help him. :D There are some steps to get to the reception but also a ramp.

Icmeler is flat so no problems with hills.Hope this has been of some help to you have a wonderful holiday :D

Thanks for your replies.

Pauline, when you say that there are steps to get in to the pool, do you mean the pool area or the pool itself?

I see what you mean now.
It seems strange though, as every other time I've been abroad, you can 'walk' in to the pool, i.e go from the shallow end to the deep end.
