Hi conki2007,
Are you going on the 31st May? only in your original piece you say you are going the begining of May?
I would recommend the jeep safari, and the boat trips, the kids will love these two trips.
Only take about £50 worth of Turkish Lira with you to get you started.
The rest of our money we take in Sterling, making sure we have plenty of £5 and £10 notes for when we go to the market because the traders will offer things at say 4 for £10.
Money can be changed at any shop, bar or exchange office, look round for the best rates.
Hire a safe at your
hotel or apartments to keep your belongings safe.
Most restaurents serve meals till about 10pm then the mood changes and dancing, music and entertainment takes place, most bars having to
switch their music off at midnight, but you can sit and talk as long as you like,a few bars do close at 2am though.
Dont be put off by the waiters outside the restaurents trying to get you in to eat at their tables, its a good banter and you just have to say no politely.
If you have spent the evening in a restaurent and need a lift back to your apartments most bars will offer a complimentary taxi service.
Walk round in the daylight to get your bearings, taking note of the bars that you have heard mention on the forum.
Walk beside the canal at night with all the lights twinkling, here you will also find an aray of first class bars and restaurents.
Market day is on Wednesday, get there early before the heat of the day really sets in.
A lot of the fun is finding things out for yourselfes but hope these few little things help to get you started.
