Jewellers

Postby Brownie1 » 10 Apr 2007 22:30

Hi to All Icmeler Lovers,

Does anyone know of the best and most reasonably priced jewellers in Icmeler?

I bought a ring last year which I need altering and even re-designing. Just wondered who would give me the best service.

I have also promised my daughter a white gold bangle for her 18th birthday and obviously would like quality as well as value for money.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sue :D

I would recommend Firuze - on the same side as Pleasures Disco.

They cant do enough for you - and will come down in price. Its run by a married couple.

Really good value. Also the shop next door - its bigger and can't remember the name but they are also very good.

Furze are good, I bought a lovely pendant from them a year or two ago.
But I mostly buy my jewellery at the Sultan, which underneath the Prince Apartments, just after the Taj Mahal cross the side road and they're on the corner.
I sold a couple of 14ct (Turkish) bracelets I'd got fed up with back to them and they gave me a really good price.... I went on to buy an unusual two-colour gold solitaire ring and as I paricularly wanted a pale pink sapphire stone, they let me choose the gemstone I wanted, took the stone that was already in the ring out and put my pink sapphire in for me -it's gorgeous (and was ready the next day!), also bought a lovely 3 colour gold bracelet and only had to put a few pounds towards the total cost of the two items - I was made up!
I've got quite a bit of broken jewellery or jewellery I very rarely wear which I will take out with me in May to sell to them and buy a few new bits!
I could spend hours looking at all the bling! There's so much more choice than there is here!

Jewellers

Some of the best Jewellers are actually in Marmaris outside of the Bazzar where the locals go for their wedding jewellery. There you will find jewellers who only deal in 18 and 24 ct gold, the real stuff not the rip off 14ct and 9ct stuff that we get back here in England. There you will also get genuine jewellers who are willing to teach you about diamond quality so that you wont get ripped off in some other not too good places either here or anywhere else in the world.
My philosophy has been never to go into a jeweller who is waiting to pounce on you just because you are looking in the window pointing at things you like. He probably owned a restaurant yesterday and is now a qualified jeweller!!

The Jeweller is outside of the bazzar it is called TE TA. It is one of the only jewellers I have come accross that sell 24 carat gold. They will manufacture for you also. The ones on the left after you leave the Attaturk monument are just your normal run of the mill Jewellers.
Admin will probably give you directions to TE TA, the locals use it to raise money also by wieghing in their gold for cash, something you will find you cant do with 14 carat gold

Hi Norman

You can sell any carat gold for cash not just 24 carat.

I have taken over lots of scrap gold ranging from 9 - 18 carat over the years and cashed it in while on holidays.

Hi I went to a jewellers in Icmeler quite near the ICR building called Ebru Gold they advertise being a hassle free zone and they are. And they are very reasonable. Nearly opposite is a restaruant called Harry's steakhouse I think?

Ialso visited Ebru Gold on several occasions last year and i would highly reccommend him. His shop is just along from harrys steak house right next to the hob nob bar and grass apartments. Excellent value for money and your right when you say no hassle, they leave you alone to browse and are on hand if you need help.
I would recommend this jewellers to everyone.

Hi there
I've been going to Icmeler for 9 years now and have to say, in my opinion of course, is that the best one is PRINCESS JEWELLERY which is almost next door to the Pyramid resturant.
I always buy my white gold there and Jeff is fabulous. Just take a picture or an idea of what you want and he will make it up for you ready to take home at the end of your holiday.
He has some lovely designs of his own if you like something a bit different? I like to buy something that I won't see anyone else wearing. I always have it valued when I get back and it always, but always is worth at least half again.
I'm off for the first of my 2 trips this year in June and have already emailed him with my order!!!
Anyway, hope you find something that you like, wherever you decide to buy it from and enjoy your holiday.

Jewellers

I did realise that you could sell any carat gold for cash you can do that anywhere in the World. But when you sell anything less than 24 carat you are only getting the scrap value. 9 carat gold has got more impuities in it than Gold and its not worth that much if you try selling it 18 is only about 50% gold so 14 carat is much worse than that. The gold price is based on 24 carat gold and thats what all jewellers work towards. Before bying any gold you must check what the gold price is first and then you can get an idea of how much he is charging for the workmanship.
