can you drink the tap water in Marmaris??

It might sound like a completely stupid question to you all, but can you drink the tap water in Turkey. I am presuming you can't, although I presumed we couldn't when we stayed Bulgaria a couple of years ago and that was fine to drink!!??

No - as far as I know - the water is completely undrinkable - we were told last year by a waiter they even wash their food in bottle water.

It is safer to drink bottled water, ok to use tap water to wash teeth. The reason being is that Turkey has more mineral/chemicals in their water, which would most probably give us a funny tummy. That said all Turkish people drink bottled as well.
There are some areas that the water is safe to drink and that is from natural water sources.
