Exchange rate up

Postby blondie » 08 Jun 2015 09:52

Yesterday's election has had an effect on the exchange rate - people getting around 4.15 in the resort this morning. Will it continue to rise or will it go down? That will all probably depend on what happens in the aftermath of the election...

That's handy to know. I'm a bit surprised it has taken such a jump, all good for us though. Hope it stays high until July !!

I always look in the local Cheque Centre window, yesterday the rate in there was 4.05 & today its 3.92.

I never buy from there although I've heard they have had problems trying to get hold Lira.

That's some drop Chezza, but it will catch people who do not know better. Glad rate is up in resort as I will top up when I'm there probably. I have changed a bit in UK and got just between 3.8 and 3.9 and though I was doing ok, but over 4 in resort is great.

Bit more difficult at 4.2 now  ... Think I'll still work on 4 and I'll actually be paying a little less ... Simples! :D

Long may it rise  ... There on the 26/6 so we'll see what it is then :D

Bad news is that 'she who always knows best' Aka Mrs G got 3.8ish at Asda a month or 2 ago and exchanged £1500 of our spends ... Despite my advice of 'why? Just take Sterling like we always do! It will be higher then!' ... Oh well, she will listen to me one day ..... Maybe!
