Lira rate for 2015 ?

3.94 at the moment, I reckon it will be stopped before it goes to 4

Hmm, prices at the moment are prices for the people living in Marmaris and Icmeler and Icmeler in one place I have heard 8 lira for a beer but it is a cafe and a friend of mine who lives close to it told me about that.

Marmaris, well I have not heard anything from the bar owners about price rises for the new season and prices are ranging from 6 lira a beer in Tigers bar in the marina to 14 lira in Bono. though Captains bar on beach is 9 lira and another bar I go into is also 9 lira

I have not seen any price rises in the last few weeks in the shops

Around 3.79 over here JT online etc ... I usually wait til my Hol and exchange sterling over there, but do you reckon it's best to cash out now or take a gamble? (Crystal Ball time I know! Lol ) .. Cheers

EVEN IF RESORT PRICES ARE RAISED TO COVER COUNCIL RATE RISES ETC, THEN THE TURKISH ALL ROUND HOLIDAY PRICE AND EXPERIENCE IS STILL FAR BETTER VALUE THAN MANY OTHER COUNTRIES, AND THE FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE AND IMMEDIATE CHILL OUT EFFECT OF THE RESORT TO ME AS A RETURNING HOLIDAYMAKER IS WORTH THAT LITTLE EXTRA TO BE PAID.

I agree acko338 - Turkey in general would have to increase prices considerably to be as expensive as some other destinations.

Its no coincidence that Turkey is one of the most popular destinations this year, Dalaman will be the busiest airport for summer bookings this year according to Travel Weekly.

well said acko, one of the attractions of turkey is the currency rate, great value all round, and not a € in sight

Well Well Well!!! No one anticipated the Lira reaching 4.12 to the £.But the person nearest was sunloverlochlomond with the amount of 3.96 Lira to the pound.I hope everyone enjoys their holidays and thank you all for having a bit of fun.

Hi Redrhino when I posted my prediction for the rate this year it was me being very optimistic! I never for a minute thought it would go beyond 4tl to the £ but when I came home from holiday in June and got my credit card statement I was getting 4.33tl to the £ so was well pleased that I had withdrawn some money for my October trip. As they say I'm smiling all the way to the bank
