Buying a TV to use in Icmeler

Postby gh1878 » 08 Jul 2014 11:28

I was wondering if any of you lovely people living over in Icmeler could give me some advice. The CRT TV (ye olde type) that we have in our apartment in Icmeler has ceased working and need a new one. We were looking at two options :-

1. Buy a TV in Marmaris. I know there are plenty of electrical shops and supertmarkets that sell them. I was wondering
how much I may pay for a small to medium LCD (or LED) TV, say 24 or 28" and what brands (current one is Vestel) are
readily available ?

2. Take a TV with us from the UK when we are over at the end of July. We have taken lots of stuff with us in the past in
addition to our 20kg allowance and have never been charged but never taken a TV. Will it work in Turkey ? We probably
only need it for games and videos, maybe satellite tv but not terrestrial TV. Would we be charged carriage ? Would we be
taxed ? On the plus side, the four of us have a 23kg allowance instead of our usual 20kg so there should be some spare for
the TV.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Regards,

Thanks John.

Is there a Dolmus that goes anywhere near Kippa ?

I know Kippa is really 'Tesco in disguise' so do they have a range of well known brands and 'own' brand as we have in the UK ?

Yes to the brands

I would take a bus to Armutalan and walk across the road from there
