Late September Weather and Resort

20 Jul 2013 21:08

Hi all, just to ask all you late holiday 'Imelerites' what the weather is usually like in September? (Possibly booking for the 27/9 for 10 days)

We have been in May last year and went on the 28/6 for 2 weeks this year

Also is the Resort as normal, or is it starting to close down with the mass exodus to Istanbul, Izmir and the 1000's of other Towns/Villages around Turkey?

Any help appreciated ......

Paul

It is getting quieter holidaymaker wise but must places are still up and running. Nights can be (but not always) a bit cooler. Nights can also be good for a good thunderstorm (spectacular)

Cheers, is it still 30+ through the day? ... We flew through a thunderstorm on the way home last year, forked lightning galore just as we left Dalaman! Mrs G wasn't impressed, I loved it in my Window seat .... :D

Towards the end of Sept into early Oct. is a nice time to visit Icmeler, the weather is still decent without being overpowering and the nights start getting dark a bit earlier. It may become a bit cooler on an evening and a long sleeve can be worn if you're a softie but I see you are from Blyth so even a sea breeze would be no problem too you.
We've gone this time of the season for years and at the moment are patiently counting down until mid Sept when we head back again.

So geordie1970, We may be there at the same time twice in a year !
We will be going again on 23rd September. Went same time last year, it was still very warm during the day & quite pleasant in the evening. I did need a small cover up some nights as there was a cool breeze, that was only a couple of evenings though. Everything was still in full swing, less children about. Not that we have anything against children, it's just an observation.

Look forward to trying to spot you again.

End of September, beginning of October is a brilliant time to go! Weather is still lovely and warm (didn't go below 30 degrees when we were there last year) and even the evening is still warm enough.

Plus, as the season is slowly coming to an end, the staff in the restaurants and bars are getting excited to be going home so the atmosphere is great! You also have the added benefit of having more personal service due to the fewer holidaymakers! :)

You won't regret it!

i agree with the above post. We went for the first time in September (last week sept, first week oct) last year (normally july) and loved it. Still hot. We had one night when it rained but only for about half an hour, if that and didnt spoil anything at all then was back to hot and sunny the next day. We still did trips and boat trips and didn't notice anything closing.
We would love to go in september again but unfortunatley that won't be possible as the government have brought a new law out stating that schools are no longer able to grant time out of school for family holidays during term time (normally schools could allow up to 10 school days), and anyone taking holidays during term time would be marked down as unauthorised absence which has a whole lot of ''punisments'' (for the parents) that go with it.
Anyway, back to original topic, yes September is a great time in Icmeler.

I have friends out there for the season who have said its terribly hot at the moment so September/October sounds much nicer
