Wish people would just stop paying the ridiculous prices they charge at Dalaman! If everyone boycotted them, maybe they would have to do something about the rip-off prices...

Well said Blondie , we never buy at
Dalaman it's a right rip off

Completely agree

We never buy at Dalaman. Wouldn't encourage them although can understand why people do if they have a delay. I discovered this year that I had a bottle of water in my bag which I had intended to dispose of and got through with it without being questioned.

Totally agree , i was pulled up last year because i had the watch my hubby bought me in my hand luggage still in box.
I had to hand it over to be inspected and got the 3rd degree where we bought it how much ,
Then as we were walking away from customs the guard shouted "lady" as i turned around so did dozens of other females she then waved and said bye bye laughing . Typical English me waved back and said bye bye too. (they are a bit scarey).
We then were starving cos the sandwiches we had previously made that morning in AI
hotel at brekkie had got a bit limp and warm and were a bit nasty . So we went to Macdonalds AND WALKED AWAY still starving We did look at the price list in the bar which was totally empty and again walked out .
We will defo be more organised this year ( order sarnies 10 mins before pick up )

why dont they charge sensible price £3 pint surely they make more money rather than 1 person in there drinking at £9 pint just dont make sense the whole airport is one big rip off apart from duty free
28 Jul 2013 20:35
we got told last year by the tomas cook rep on the bus on the way to the airport that we would be stopping for a toilet stop and the last oppertunity to buy food and drink before arriving at Dalaman, and if we wanted food and didn't already have it, advised us to do so as Dalman was now the most expensive airport in the world!!
I was quite shocked but when seeing the prices believed her

We were stuck in
Dalaman for 10 hours(7 hour delay) All we were offered was a bit of pizza and a drink, then a muffin and a drink for our 2nd meal. What a joke!!! We ended up paying £22 to get into the VIP lounge. Fresh sandwiches cakes etc and unlimited teas/ coffees and soft drinks and and comfy seats to sit in. Saved us a fortune in the long run.

You would've thought that the Penny would've Dropped by now for all the Bar and Food Outlets that are in
Dalaman Airport that they could sell more and make better profits if they set their pricing at a reduced but fair tariff.

Thankfully we get lounge access with our bank accounts so always use the
Dalaman lounge. A couple of years ago we were delayed 14 hours and the lounge was a god send.

I agree with the comments - if nobody purchased, they would have to lower the prices. To Fife Girl was the VIP Lounge £22 each to enjoy their food etc?
29 Jul 2013 16:41
and can i ask if anyone knows the child prices for the lounge?, alsowhere is it? and can just book into it when there?
we would normally just take snacks with us in our hand luggage but would just like to know incase of delays

Here is their website:
http://www.atmairport.aero/Dalaman_en/cip.php#Euro 22.50 per person, 2yrs and under free.
It's upstairs opposite the pub. Go through security, turn left, up the escalators and it's directly on your left.

I always ignore the main food concourse and head straight to the departure gate. The little kiosks by the gates have food and drink much more reasonably priced, although snacks rather than meals.

Reasonable? Really? I paid 15TL for a 4 course meal in
Marmaris a few weeks ago and the wee kiosk by gate 24 was selling a single banana for 15TL. They can ram it
30 Jul 2013 12:50
15TL for a banana??? Wow - that's beyond a joke! I'd be wanting the whole plantation for that!
30 Jul 2013 16:03
I am pretty sure we paid about 20 tl for two coffees and two cakes. I try to make sure that we have eaten before we get to Dalaman. I dont know about bananas , I dont eat them.!

June 2012 due to a flight delay and needing a caffine trip I paid £ 4 for a small paper cup of instant coffee in the departure lounge
