Anybody tell us what it is in resort at the moment please ?

Just this minute got 2.88 at Elvis supermarket opposite Romance, Wembley Bar the same.

Interbank rate just hit 2.99, might have changed some of money a little to early but was happy with what I got, still have £1500 to change over there and may even take my September money over with me to change in advance.

Sounds like a plan Dave, I might change another £300 too - if it goes over 3 then I definitely will buy - 5 weeks til we go (same as you) and could go either way in that time

I've never used them before and can't quite make up my mind whether to order some or not.

Hi Janeypoos, not sure about the cons but a big pro is the fact that if you loose TC's they can be replaced fairly quickly although we always take a bit of Lira (although so far I bought 1430TL as the rate was very good) and the rest in sterling and change it as-and-when we need it. I think I saw on here (or perhaps facebook) there are places that don't charge you commission when changing TC's - I'm sure someone will be on here to advise where.

My wife and I split the money between us during travelling out although my wallet never leaves my side and I reckon I must check it at least every 5 minutes lol. My wife has a zip-up handbag where she stashes her purse right at the bottom. Once at the hotel it either goes in a locked luggage case or the room safe although this year we'll probably use the room safe... better to be safe than sorry (corny pun intended )

We took most of our money in travellers cheques & changed them at the supermarket just at the side of the ICR office. He didn't charge us anything & gave us the same rate as the change offices etc.
We felt it was safer to take cheques as if lost or stolen they can be replaced & You won't have a problem changing them.

We returned early yesterday morning and took mostly travellers cheques, our friends took all cash we were both changing them at the same time, but supermarkets would not give me the same rate as my friend, we usually use supermarket next to ICR office or the bars, we have been going to Icmeler for the last thirteen years and always take travellers cheques for security ansd hire safe in apartments this is the first year we have received a lower rate for traveller chequers
