Interbank rate had gone from 2.77 to 2.80 today after the positive prediction from the Bank or England yesterday and France entered recession for a second time so looking good at the moment.

Rate in the change shops jumped to 2.75+ today not changed any myself so don't know about anywhere else.

It's just climbed above 2.8 on my desktop gadget for the first time in a while, right now it's showing 2.810 which is good news.

What's the price today, you must be getting something around this figure (or more) by now?

Your desktop gadget will be showing the Interbank rate. But the change shops, supermarkets & bars, wherever you change your money all need to make their profit.

Change offices are showing 2.7378 today.

So, with the Interbank rate at 2.8047 works out at 2.3532% commission (if I got my maths right)

Sugar is still giving 2.75 in Buffalo

7.148 in the change shops today. Even Sugar has dropped his to 7.3 mind you, on £100 that's only 2tl less.

Can't guarantee anything, but from experience, I don't think it will go below 2.7 and will probably go up. However, as you say, it's a gamble and needs to be your choice.

Going up again, always nice to see, bank rate is 2.827 this morning.

Also, if you decide to buy before you go:

Thomas Exchange UK are giving 2.738 for orders over £1,500 (for order under £1,500 it's £6 per order)
Ace FX are giving 2.722 for orders over £1,000 (for orders under £1,000 it's £5 per order)

I've only ever used Ace FX for delivery orders and never had any bother with them (usually next day and recorded delivery)

Still climbing, hope it continues for next couple of months although will be quite happy if it stays at 2.8ish.
