Sorry to hear about your break-up Dani. I agree with Patrushka, surely its better to go alone than not go at all. I'm sure if you've been before you'll know some people anyway, but if not I'm sure someone on the forum would be happy to take you under their wing. Go for it girl...... who needs men anyway!!!

So sorry to hear about your break up, but Icmeler is the only place abroad i could actually consider going on my own! its safe, the people are wonderful and as the others have said "Go Girl " remember Life is not a rehearsal so you go and have a fab time. Take care

Dani, you must be feeling rotten! What horrible news!

I was in pretty much the same situation as you this time last year. I had a flight booked to go out and stay with my boyfriend in May but we split up just after New Year.
I was seriously considering carrying on with the holiday, booking myself into a hotel and just going out for a week on my own anyway, despite him, because I love Icmeler so much and needed someting to look foward to at such an upsetting time, but a friend managed to get herself a ticket on the same flight so we went together and had an absolute ball - did me the world of good!

I think it's probably about the only place I'd feel comfortable holidaying on my own - and you know what it's like on holiday, you so easily seem to get chatting to different people from all walks of life, I always feel I come away from Icmeler with a few more friends!

What about trying to get a friend to go with you, it probably wouldn't cost much to change a booking....

A family friend of mine who is a sprightly 82 years old has just spent the last 4 weeks in Cyrus - holidaying on her own in a 5 star hotel. She had a fabulous time and said tonight that if she could have stayed longer she would have!

You should go for it!
