PASSPORT EXPIRY

hi i wonder if anyone can help. We are coming back to Icmeler on 8/9/13 for 3 weeks , returning to the UK on 29/9/13. My passport expires on 14/4/14, 28 weeks after our return. I know i need at least 6 months left on it and there is 28 weeks left but has anyone had any issues at Dalaman with a their passport just meeting the 6 month criteria. is there a risk i might be refused entry?

As long as you have a full 6 Months validity left on your passport you will be ok. If it were under 6 months I certainly wouldn't chance it. Officialdom in Turkey can be very official (as anywhere) and it could become expensive and difficult.
If you renew your passport early they will add on the unexpired portion of validity so you do not lose.

You should be fine - we go June & Sept this year and my husband had a similar passport issue. We have been assured that as long as passport is valid for 6 months on arrival you only need 3 months when you leave.

Have you thought about renewing your passport before you go. You can carry up to nine months over from your old one. Saves any potential worry!

thanks all, considered renewing but need the form countersigning , a bit of hassle that's all, 9 years on i have changed a bit lol my son (a real charmer) says i can't be recognized from my old photo! will probably renew just to be on the safe side, would hate to chance our 3 weeks in heaven.

hi i had this problem last year we went on 27th sept returning on 8th oct passport ran out on 20th april. ichecked on turkish gov website and i found that you need 6 months from start of your hol and only 3 months from end. if i can find where i saw it i will post a link

I've just renewed mine lechy123 and it needed countersigning too! I used the Post Office check and send service and it only took a week phew - had a bit of a sweat on though, cos I only applied 6.5 weeks before I'm due to fly
