Special Requests

How long before your holiday do you send emails for special requests such as ground floor apartments etc? Is it better to do it months in advance, or wait until nearer the time?

I usually send requests about 1 week before I go as I find if you do it any earlier they may get ignored or forgotten.

Sorry to disagree with the above post but for ground floor room I have always emailed a request three or four weeks before we go, that way there will be one available as others having a two week holiday may have requested and be already installed in the ground floor rooms just before you. You can always send an email reminding them a few days before you get there. This has never failed for me when we have had my elderly Mother with us, I have always explained my Mum could not manage stairs and all the apartment/hotel owners (I have stayed at a lot) could not do enough for her.
