faber apartments

Hi All,
Has anybody ever stayed at the Faber apartments, any information would be very welcome, not arriving until about 2am will there be anything open for something to eat and a drink possibly nearby, very much appreciated.

Plenty reviews on Trip Advisor. Apartmets are in a great location at the start of the village with several bars and restaurants nearby, Deja Vu, Slyvias but they will probably be closed at 2.00. From the outside the apartments look lovely. There is an "ASDA" supermarket about a 2 minute walk away that is open 24 hours

Hi, Faber apartments are nice, and not too far from the main town. Is it about 5mins walk back from the Tansas Supermarket. When do yo go? We are going on the 25th May and arrive in the early hours of the 26th May. The showers are quite small, but nice apartments. The apartments have safe deposit boxes in the rooms also and a TV. There are quite a few restaurants/bars nearby. Bar One is next door, but I doubt you will be able to get any food in the restaurants at that time. I am sure if you ask they may order a takeaway in for you or advise you where you could go. There is also a few small shops nearby where you can get your daily essentials. Asda is open 24 hours and is just around the corner (Jimmy runs this place and he is such a great person). If you see him, before I do say hi from Julie. Not too far away there is a takeway or eat in place just on the top road of the apartments where you can get kebabs from etc... Have a great holiday. roll on the sunshine can't wait

You will be enjoying the sunshine before us, not flying out until the 14th September for 10 nights, could you tell me do you have to pay for the air con and if so , do you think we will need it in September, really looking forward to it, hope you have a great time .

Hi, yes you do have to pay for the air con, but can't remember the cost. Not sure if you will need it about 14th S eptember, we went last year at the end of september into October and did not need it. You can always ask for it later if you think that you need it. I will try to let you know when we have been back how much the aircon is. Have a great holiday.

Anybody stayed at the Faber this year?

Read some excellent reviews for 2011 but most of the reviews for 2012 are pretty bad. When there are a few negative reviews I just think that there are a few professional complainers who moan at everything, so I ignore them. There are far too many bad reviews to ignore, though.

Yup, stayed May/June and it was fine. Lovely pool and the food from the resturant is good. Always a waiter about to get your poolside drinks, snacks etc. Once a week they do a special evening. went to one and it was well worth the money the food was superb. Rooms cleaned everyday linen changed every 3/4 days. If I remember correctly A/C was £40. per week.
If you go looking for things wrong you can always find them. I don't look too closely nowadays and am usually satisfied/happy.

Thanks for that silverbeard. Most of the comments I ignored but there were so many in June and July commenting on the black grime along the sides of the pool, the water being cloudy and a lot of people having ear infections. Don't know how true these comments are.

I was also a little worried about some of the reviews, but as long as rooms are clean and linen changed will be fine, will only use the rooms to shower and sleep in, will be using pool bar during day for drinks and breakfast, will probably stay when some special evening entertainment, how much is the average price of a meal there and the full english breakfast, also the effes, only 4 weeks now so cannot wait, we will also be looking for somewhere for next year if we like the Faber then will probably rebook for next year, unless anyone else can reccomend somewhere else, many thanks in advance for any reposts.

We stayed at the faber 2 years ago and they were great a few people said the attic rooms were a bit small but had no problems getting moved as rooms became available the snacks were good and prices were reasonable rooms were nice and clean
Its very nice in the old village and all the bars are welcoming enjoy your holiday

Hi Dragon, The pool was spotless, cleaned and treated daily. I watched the pool guy get in the pool and clean around the edges. I used the pool myself - the first time in any pool for 10 years. It was so inviting!

Thanks, I take the reviews from certain sites with a pinch of salt but rely on this site for genuine comments.

Jenny, could you post on this thread after you return from your holiday in september with your opinion of the Faber?

Of course , I will definately post a reply when we return, like most people will only be using apartments as a base, but nice to have the choice to spend some time in the bar and restaurant if selling nice food, will be spending most of the time round the pool during the day , but would like to venture out during the evening, could anybody reccomend some good eating places close by as we are also taking my 82 year old father with us and a registered disabled person, they can both walk ok but obviously a lot slower and not great distances, many thanks to all for there help and will definately post a review on our return.

The three bells is nice for meals and not that far from faber but if you have a word with the lads in there they will be only too happy to pick you up and drop you off at the faber as will most places

The Bar1one restaurant is adjacent to the Faber and the food is excellent and very reasonably priced.

An excellent restaurant that is mentioned a lot on this forum is Sidik's Family Restaurant and it is only down the road from the Faber. We went there three times in July and would have gone more but we wanted to visit old favourites. It's now on the top of our favourite restaurant list and will be our first stop next year

Have made a note of Bar 1 and also Siddicks, have read many a good review on both of these places and so close to where we are staying, did any of you eat in the restaurant at the Faber, looking for somewhere for breakfast, do Bar 1 and Siddicks do Full English, and also do they have entertainment in them, many thanks.

Not sure about Sidik's for breakfast but the Wembley next door are usually good.

I have to say that I didn't partake of a breakfast when I was at the Faber but could see from my balcony those that were dished up looked lovely. Plenty of bacon eggs etc. I was quite jealous, but not good for my health. One all nighter resturant close by is the Nefis Pide. Superb Pide's and grills also soup, a fair choice on the menu and very reasonable for price. Easy to find. turn right out of the gate, turn left at the first villa,turn right at the first junction.when reaching the next 4 way junction look over to your left and you will see the Robin Hood and further to your left the Nefis. It sounds a long way but isn't.
