Flights & Prices......any ideas?

Postby Chris221273 » 02 Jul 2012 11:43

Hey all,
Chatted with JT the other day with regards to trying to book flights for August 10th.
Thought I would also ask all you kind peeps advice as to any good deals you've seen about. At the moment the cheapest I've found is £460 each, flying from gatwick, and there's 6 of us coming!!!
Any ideas would really be appreciated.
Thank you.

Yes correct

Cutting it short a day and doing just 13 with Thomas Cook is £340 per person with 20kgs included

Going 15 days with Monarch if you can fly Friday evening 9th August at 9pm is actully a bit cheaper at £310 also luggage included

Easyjet have not released their flights yet so you could take a chance and wait for a cheaper one from them but who is to say they may not be much different for 2013

The thing is as always, if you see a flight and you think the price is ok, don't dally get it booked before it goes up in price

Wow that's quite a saving, thanks to both of you.
JT what do you mean with regards to easyjet releasing there flights?
Never done any of this before, always done package deals.
And yeah god knows I wish we'd booked earlier, but had a multitude of things all bugger up at the same time a couple of months ago. Anita's car broiled MOT badly, got it fixed then timing chain went! Had to scrap it and get a new car, which ate away our holiday fund! So annoying havin seen them at £280 each flight back then too!
Hey ho, wild horses won't stop us getting back to our second home in 38 days :-D

Also don't forget to look at Bodrum flights its only another 45 minutes transfer, there is also Rhodes then the Ferry, which is the route I used last year.

I checked all the Bodrum options Dave and more expensive

I never checked the Rhodes as I would only do it alone or as a last resort like you did

Have you tried just putting the month into skyscanner - also, if you're not too fussed about where you fly from, just put uk in the from section, then you can pick the cheapest options - this way only gives you returns to the same airports though, so if you've scope for flying from one and coming back into another, if you do single flights only you can find them cheaper.

We was looking to book most recently (Bham or East Mids) into Dalaman during the main fortnight (Last 2 Weeks in July) we dithered and now the daily monarch flight has uppped by around £80 per head and makes it a serious NO NO, Only recently returned into work, so for all of those who are booked , well done enjy your holiday :D
