booking monarch seats

Postby haydn » 02 Jun 2012 08:21

hi we are due to fly out in sept, we have booked our holiday through monarch, as a package, i can remember seeing somewhere a link to book seats, and that these could be booked 90 days before. I have searched around and cannot find the link, i have been on the monarch site and that only lets you book seats if you are flight only, has anyone got any ideas, still got a few weeks to go before i can book seats but wanted to find the page before hand so i can go straight there and book our seats

I think you have to do it by phone, below is from their website:

If you have booked your flight as part of a package with another company or via Avro or Cosmos, you will not be able to manage your booking online. For Cosmos customers please call 0871 423 8401*, for Avro 0871 423 8550* and for assistance with all other bookings, please call us on 0871 9 405040* (calls cost 10p per minute from a BT landline. Other networks may vary).

I have booked flights with Monarch and they e-mailed me to say the check in was now open. This enabled me to check in online and book seats as well. They then uploaded our info for the API as well which saved me having to type it all in again. But the link was on my e-mail. Maybe this can only be done once the check in is open which is as you say 90 days before departure.

Try http://bookflights.monarch.co.uk/flightextras.aspx

Its not obvious but you have click the little circle to the right of where it says Charter Flight, a screen then comes up to find our booking.

Flew out with Monarch Airlines and checked in online. Was given the option to pre-book seats which I did and wish I had not.

It was the most horrendous flight out ever! About 5 babies crying in unison, seats not exactly where they were in the online diagram, hardly any leg room and because we were at the middle (back row) our seats did not go back but the seats in front did so this made even less room to breathe.

So no I would not bother to pre-book seats on this flight - save the money for a stiff drink on the flight to relax and get through the noise!! ha ha
