Went to fryer tucks last year i didnt have anything but my Daughter had fish and chips and loved it, she said they was really nice and wants to go back this year. My mum had a cheese and beetroot sandwich and said it was lovely. It really does my head in when people say why travel all that way and want fish and chips ect. I got the same when i asked if there was a mc Donalds, if its what you like then its what you like. It wouldnt do for us all to be the same, hope you enjoy

As the previous reply,we too use the Jasmine opposite the Private Hotel. The food is tremendous and mine host is a really nice guy. You won't be dissapointed here either.

Ah Roy,

The Ashvale Whale, can only be Aberdeen or Brechin. The Ramsdens challenge was a fair eat as well....along a similar theme on the Boulevard in Aberdeen. I believe there was stiff competition between the two.

Back on the thread......There is plenty of choice no matter what you like to eat in Icmeler. Personally, I like to try something new when on holiday and in Turkey, I agree with the earlier thread and have never had a bad meal, so spread your wings if you can.

I hope you all enjoy your holiday this year.

All the best,

Popped to Harry rams last night for chips and gravy, really nice. Advertising fish cakes. Chips, mushy peas with bread and butter all for 12 lira, bargain.

Harry Rams is the best by far, their scampi is the best I have ever had as well. I love it there, all the tables are outside and they play low 60's and 70's music, if there are times like me you get sick of the loud boom boom music and just want a quiet chill evening with fabulous British food Harry Rams is the place.

Oh yes Aberdeen, well spotted Archie, :o even katiehutchieson didn't twig on!! Been to several of Ashvale outlets but for me nowhere beats Gt Western Road restaurant. The other one you mentioned closed & is now Skippers Restaurant with a similar deal but haven't tried it - yet. Better watch as I might kop it from JT or Rami for promoting places not in Icmeler; like you & others have never been disappointed with eating out, plenty of choice, variety although do have my favs but still trying new places.
Regards.

Oophs - think I spelt Katie's surname incorrectly - sorry.

Hi we have been going to the Jasmin garden for years the last time we went there we had fish & chips which is advertised as English fish & chips when I mentioned to Rachel ( joint owner with Charlie) she is English that there was no batter on the fish just a dusting of flour she said if you don't like it go else where which we wil do in future, We will be sorry to do this as Charlie who we've known for about 10 years is great bloke we'll miss our chats with him, we now go to Harry Rams great fish & chips, have a great time we'll be there on 18/6/12. I have eaten take aways rather than sit in and in both Harrys Rams and Friar Tucks and though Harry Rams does a "cheap" deal, Friar Tucks is far superior in my opinion and I do have the pies, pasties, Fish and fishcakes often

Christine and Ramazan From Friar Tucks are friends of ours from Yorkshire and they work long and hard - there fish and chips are by far the best in Icmeler.. :P

Well thanks for your replies and suggestions.

Harry Rams was not too far from us so the decision was made.

2 fish and chips 1 with mushy peas
1 child's chips and chicken nuggets
1 chicken Burger and chips.
plenty of bread
3 Cokes and an Efes all for 59 lira, the cheapest evening meal we had and very tasty.

So a big thumbs up from the lad.
