I've stayed at the Private a number of times. Yes, the Irish Bar is noisy, but you can't hear it from the other side so do ask for one of those rooms if you can, it does turn down at midnight but you can still hear it. The rooms are very basic, but they are very basic in an awful lot of places, it's just the Turkish way, they are cleaned well and often, and I've found nothing is too much trouble for the
hotel staff. The lifts are a bit wonky, the stair carpets could do with replacing - but that's the same all over!
The pool is great, generally a good atmosphere and lots to do. My advice - say a firm no to the Turkish night, say a firm no to eating in the pool bar on a night (you can still do both if you want to, but they will leave you alone with a firm no) and don't have a tab at the bar cause it's quite likely you'll not get charged right. In most instances I think this is an honest mistake, I've been undercharged by a long way a couple of times cause I keep my own tab too - it just gets a bit chaotic when the hotel is quite full. There is a certain reputation to the Private pool, but don't let it spoil things for you, go with the flow and look after your own interests and you'll have a ball
