Gold jewellery repair shops

Postby acko338 » 30 Jan 2012 19:16

Evening all, my wife and and I will be returning again to Icmeler for the 4th time, on our holidays in August.

Sorry we're not slumming it - back to the Aqua again on all inclusive - but still get out and about in the evenings for drinks, buying trips and some entertainment.

Really happy to be coming back again after going to several other Turkish resorts in the last three years.

i have a Turkish 18ct gold wrist bracelet that has a snapped link - can someone please recommend a good repair shop?

I refuse to have it done in England - rather not wear it than have a local butcher charge me the earth and take over a month to bother getting round to it !!

The one under the Kapmar Hotel (Bella Mare when I stayed there twice ) closed a few years ago, or, I have used one for ring size changes last time there - on the street leading off the square towards the Turkish bath - From the Kapmar front door, turn right, two / three streets down, turn right and the shop is on the left hand side in a block of three or four shops ??? Sorry, can't remember it's name !

Q - is that one still there ? - it was a good price for work last time there, or is there another as a recommendation, please?

thanks for any help !

acko338,
From your directions it sounds like the workshop at the side of Tandoori Sizzler (ex Chill Bar) before you get to Scotia bar. just off the main Square, that was still there............Last Season I noticed another workshop, this one was two doors down, on the left hand side, from the main square, heading to the beach, going past the L'etoile. Before the new Harry's Steak House.
Hope these directions are of help.

Hi Acko, Dodge has mentioned Star and we've used them several times too - can't recommend them highly enough. Owned by Dino and Linda who are lovely.
He's a working goldsmith and has repaired jewellery for us at really low price. He even repaired a bangle of mine that broke on the way to Icmeler, all based on a very basic sketch and description. Perfection is all I can say hahaha.

I've always used Trust Jewellers - they will repair, clean and polish. Metin is very helpful and their prices are good too .

Feruze is certainly worth visiting, Murat makes a lot of is own stuff, VFM & trustworthy. Just along from the supermarket (not Tansas) on the mainstreet. We have used him on several times & recommended him to friends who were happy.

I second ths choice, we have used Firuze since 2005, we normally buy something for the wife each year and normally dont get charged for any repair work.

Agree with Roy and Dave, we've always been very pleased with Firuze. When we first started going to Içmeler we tried a few different jewellers but we found that they were the best. You're guaranteed a warm welcome with Murat and Sona and nothing will be too much trouble.

Firuze is easy to find and it's also marked on the 'around içmeler map' on
