I always try and go for a turkish bath every time I go to Icmeler. Most of the time it is either booked through ICR or through an agency, I used No Name who used to be down opposite the bank and on the way to Ida and Bonjour. Both times were brilliant. The bath part is open and in a group but it is quite fun to watch other people's reactions when they get massaged and pulled around in the bubbles. When you go in for the oil massage, this usually more private and in a seperate room.
Whichever you choose, you will come out feeling clean and relaxed. As said previously, the scrub down really does help your tan. :)

We had one and booked through ICR.
It was very nice, good price and you can pay for extras like mud packs and oil massage.
Certainly good value and just round the corner from the ICR office.
Although dont be like we were, we walked up every road other than the one the the lady in the office told us too!!
Accidental exploration we called it :-D

The turkish bath as mentioned by others does take place with others, but you do always wear you swimming costumes during the experience. It is possible to go when it is single sex is this would make her feel more comfortable. There are many places you can go in Icmeler to experience a turkish bath and if you come to the ICR office in Icmeler we can direct you to the one we use. However if you would like to experience a traditional turkish bath in original setting (rather than a hotel) then we are able to organise a pick up from Icmeler to take you to the Traditional baths in Marmaris just 15minutes away. If you are interested just let me know and I can get this organnised for you for when you arrive (best to have it at the beginning as it prepares the skin for the sun). If you require any further information about this or any other excursions then just let me know :)

We went to the traditional hammam at Armutalan and it was a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend it.

We can also recommend the Armutalan one in Marmaris. We went last year (organised by ICR office) were picked up and dropped off at our Hotel. You can just have the turkish bath or you can add on an oil massage and a facial if you wish.

I would also recommend Armutalan too. We have tried 2 or three different places, but tis is definitley the best. They have a jacuzzi room too. The massage rooms are beautiful now, and you can go in, in couples. We had Thai girls doing the massage, and I tell you, they were better than any man. A fabulous experience.

Re: turkish bath

Also, how different were the Armutalan from hotel Turkish baths please

Hi I found they were much better than the Hotel one we had the previous year, the hotel one we went to (can't remember the name of the hotel) was small and the slab in the turkish bath could only hold two at a time, in Armutalan we were in a group of 8 people, hard to explain but overall it was a much better experience.
As for the cost of the massage, I think it was about an extra £10, well worth it, though when getting the massage they did try to get me & others to get an extra " special massage" done as the had found a tight muscle in my shoulder. when I said no they were okay about it.
If you contact one of the girls at ICR I'm sur they will be able to get prices for you.

So, so much better than the hotel Turkish baths we have been to. We paid 80 YTL last year which was for the Turkish bath, including jacuzzi, sauna, oil massage and face pack. Given the exchange rate last summer it worked out around £28. We were in there a good couple of hours. They picked us up at our hotel, and took us back afterwards. Fantastic package.

Thanks for that, will definitely give them a try. We will call into ICR when we arrive and book it. Could do with it just now as my back is killing me, lol. Im sure we paid more than £10 in Olu Deniz last year.

i think we will definately be going to the one in armutala, the only problem we may have is that we will have a 9 year old in tow, we he be able to come in and sit as we both get a bath or will we have to go in one at at time

Re: turkish bath

02 Feb 2012 13:06

Don't worry, your 9 year old will be able to come along with you and watch as you both have the turkish bath. Obviously there is an minimum age limit for those that can actually have the turkish bath, but I can find this out for you once the turkish bath opens for the summer, just incase he would also like to have a turkish bath.
