Friends of mine went last year and really enjoyed it. However, it is very hilly and there is no beach in Kalkan itself - think you have to get the boat to nearby beaches. They said it's a lovely, quite upmarket resort, but definitely not suited to those for whom walking is a problem. Don't think there's much in the way of nightlife either, although they said there were some lovely restaurants. Seemed to be a lot more expensive than the likes of Icmeler too, from what they said.

We were looking at Kalklan for September, but after looking at some vids on youtube ,decided it would be too hilly for the missus, looks a nice place, but not if you,re out of breath all the time.Have look on Kalkan local news site ,they have web cams you can look at..Rog.

Maybe consider Kas which is a famous resort just past Kalkan.

There is night life, daytime excursions, nice restaurants, the beach and so on...Its much smaller than Icmeler however the scenery and the lifestyle is one of the best when compared to other resorts in Turkey.

Yes definitely Kas and is where we have had a break a few times

Winding little back streets with antique shops and nice little bars

We could not get the car up a road in Kalkan as the wheels were spinning so we backed it back down to the sea and took a fast run at it to get out of there
