Hi all, just wandering if anybody is organising any meet ups @ Tandoori Sizzler, Boat trips or walks to the flag this June ???
Donna and myself will be in the resort from 10th June - 18th June.

Surely there will be a few things to be arranged for this summer. Esspecially with some of the developments that are under way (not allowed to say yet)

, 2012 will be full of suprises and there will be some great offers for everyone from various establishments around the resort as well as addition of some new meet up points..

I am thinking of arranging a swim from the harbour in
Icmeler accross to the big island,
The swim will take place at sunrise to avoid all the sea traffic that uses this stretch of water.
Only good swimmers will be allowed and no waterwings or buoancy aids will be permitted.
Anyone interested in joining me I will have a list up in a short while so you can enter your names.

Ooooooh! dear Gene, what a shame, I won't be able to do the swim co's im still inspecting the inside of my eyelids at that time. It is also my religion, I'm a devout non excerciser. Remember - You too can have a body like mine ----- if you're not very carefull.

David, if the sunrise time is unsuitable what about the sunset.
Taxis will be avaliable tezthemaniac for those only doing one way.
John, slingbacks and Dutch clogs will be allowed.
Eatock08,Why not come down and cheer us all on,maybe apply the goose grease to protect us from the cold water.

Sunset could be risky.....depending on how many efes you've had, but then the clogs should keep you afloat
14 Jan 2012 17:17
Gene, if you make it our third week I will make sure Silverbeard has been on a strict diet for the first two and will also make sure his eyelids are open by sunrise

By the way his personal trainer will not accompany him!!!!!

Hi Gene,
We're out there 13 - 27 July, so not sure if that will coincide. Just checked on Google Earth and it looks like it's "only" 510m from the harbour to the island, so I think I'd be up for it (and maybe even manage it back without a lift

)
Keep the good ideas coming (for some definition of good, that is

)
- Paul.
P.S. How many Efes-es are recommended to get rid of the taste of that much saltwater?

Hi,
This is my first post as I'm a newby to the site although been going to
Icmeler for many a year usually at least twice a year, more if my work allowed!!
JT has been very helpful since I joined the site.
The swim sounds interesting, have thought about swimming to the island from where we usually go to the beach (Beach 34, formerly Green Sea Beach) but couldn't get anyone to do it with, although one year 4 swordfish swam through our area close to the beach, when I first spotted the fins thought of sharks!!! - don't like sharks!!! never seen anything again. Would have thought if further than 500metres from the harbour though.
Regards
Roy.

The Green Sea Beach is the closest to the Island and I myself used to swim across there many years ago with the kids on my back
From the aqua beach area its a lot longer
17 Jan 2012 16:15
Yes Pinocchio it is a lot further from the Aqua Beach.

Gene I am intrigued by your aquatic venture and although it is unlikely that I would be able to finish your watery trial, I am more than willing to help in any way i can,I suggest that you moor me half way and use me as a floating pontoon / rest stop a full refreshments menu would of course be available.
17 Jan 2012 18:39
Pop and crisps half way accross David sounds a good idea,

but you would have to wear something bright and not that blue sailor suit because if you wore that you would be lost to us in the Briny
Offers now on for who tows you out behind a pedalo to your mooring posistion.

I'll do it if it involves free beer!

Gene navigation lights, a bell and a foghorn, would be fitted to keep the shipping lanes safe.I am also looking for a way to fit a barbecue that doesn't cause so much pain.any suggestions?
19 Jan 2012 09:08
Could the barbecue be fitted somehow to the whalebone corset you wear David as reguards the foghorn surely your strong tenor voice could could alert oncoming boats.
A flashing bike torch with multilpe colours and a bell. could be provided by
ICR to warn other swimmers and jet ski drivers of your presence.
The trip is coming along nicely now, thanks for all the input.
