A little knackered but worth it lol.........

Postby TIMUK » 02 Nov 2006 11:26

Set off from home this morning 3am

Got to Coburg Wharf about 3.35, hardly any sleep so a bit knackered is the word.

Only myself there and my trusty mate { kim the doggie } :D

Had both Rods set up by 4am, now fishing 2 Rods I thought conditions were good and the Tide was right for the Coddie's, well it got to 7.30 and I got my 1st knock, I thought ahhh s**t I'm in for a bad sesh and was gonna blank

Had fresh bait, frozen bait, squid, new rigs the lot but things going through my head to change things as I was getting a tad peeved off and my eyes were starting to close

So I reeled in and there was my 1st whiting for this Winters season, the fish was insize but I threw it back and hoped for more. Well the crabs were just loving my fresh worms, I was putting 3 Fresh on a time and within 5 minutes the worms were stripped off the rigs

Ok here's my 1st whiting :D

Image

Was about 30 minutes later and just coming upto High Water and the Rod was tapping away and this fella was on the end

Image

Well I thought wtf I ain't no blanker this time

8.15am High Water and I seen the Greys Rod go

Left it a minute or two had loads of slack line thought hmmmmmm there's a coddling on the end of this, took up the slack and then felt the fish on the end of the line, kept on reeling in and got this wee fella

My 1st Codling for this year, I was tempted to throw it back the way it was looking at me, but when I threw my 1st one back last year hoping to catch more well it didn't work, anyway this is tomorrow nights Tea and Saturday's

Isn't he cute :D

He's in the fridge now and it's 11.15 am and I'm off for a kip.

PS. I know it's nothing to do with Icmeler, Marmaris or Turkey, but I just thought it would give you something to read over the Winter months

Maybe Admin could give us another section so we can post posts like this {before anyone winges} :D

PPS, Some more pictures taken this morning overlooking the Mersey, ohh and these Swans and Signets came to see me

Thank you Cherice, Karlee and magoo :D

I ended up taking lots of pictures to be honest as the fishing was slow, but I've picked the best ones out

magoo, actually the two small fish were returned to survive another day, the coddling was still alive on top of my fishing box and when I finished the photo shoot I wrapped it's head on the light stanction so I could put it into the carrier bag without it jumping out

They don't do fish which I think is a bit odd because they'll eat the sh**e from the chippy Colette but not my fresh

Well I suppose it's the same if I kept hens and necked one for a Sunday dinner, they would turn their nose up because they know were it's come from lol

BTW...I thought you was my mate Colette....so where was my early morning Cuppa

I think you're on the snobby side of the River (well they think their snobby over that way lol )..

I was near to Upper Parliment Street, Toxteth way Colette

Put Coburg in multimap.com and click Liverpool
