And your entitled to your opinion John, we all like different things, i hated Lal but some love it, my argument was with Masala being 'much better', if you know the facts about this place (and many do on here) it could not possibly be better - Masalas curry is EXACTLY the same curry served at approx 10 restaurants across icmeler!

I have just spent the better part of 20 minutes cleaning up this topic.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that does not give anyone the right to throw insults on here

So if anyone would like to carry on discussing then please comment on the food or the restaurant and not the members please

Had the Sunday roast here in June, have also sampled the roast at the Hotel Eda, Cupids and i found them all very bland whereas the old famous kitchen won hands down with regards to a sunday dinner , i even took a photograph of it because it was that good. The Sunday roast at the old famous kitchen was to die for xxx

Didn't get round to eating here in August, so am watching this topic with interest  . Have to say I do like my curries, but fully accept that even at our "local" at home, what we get varies depending I suppose on which chef is in that night :)
What I can say is, if we're not happy after the first forkful wherever we're eating, then we have a polite word with a waiter and more often than not, the problem's rectified. Am sure that would happen in the Sizzler as much as any other place.
So negative views won't put us off next year and it's great to hear everyone's honest and fair views on the place

I was disappointed with the peshwari naan bread as it was very sweet and had raisins in it. I expected it to be like the peshwari naan that we have at home. But I was the odd one out, the rest of our group loved it and wished that we could get the 'sizzler's' naan from restaurants at home.

We (John & Zena) will be back in Icmeler July 2012 and we will both be enjoying the great hospitality and food at the Tandoori Sizzler as we have for many years albeit with Hakan & Levent at their different establishments. We have found the curries at the TS to be of "Good quality & Value for money". The service has always been good and the whole experience satisfying. (We have had the "Best Table" many times!...)
We have sometimes waited quite a while for various courses to appear.... but in a very busy establishment isn't that enevitable?
People who remember the Old Famous Kitchen know how good Hakan and Levent can serve excellent quality Turkish cuisine and i believe this is also delivered at the TS.

Now..we are obviously fans of H & L and the TS but it is not the only restaurant we will visit, there are many that we enjoy and all have comparable dishes (curry not included). But we just keep getting drawn back to the TS, and i / we think that it is because of the honesty that is portraid from the management of the TS. Nothing is too much trouble, and both H&L would rather be told to their faces that something was wrong with a meal rather than reading it on a forum.

I would say give the Tandoori Sizzler a try...be prepared to wait a while if the place is busy(just have another beer) and enjoy your evening at "one" of the best restaurants in Icmeler

Good post Cummo, people need to realise that the reason you have to wait is there are others in the restaurant and every dish is cooked fresh. It is nice to go to a restaurant and eat within 5 minutes of being seated, but when they have a large tub of ready cooked slop out the back that just needs a heat through its easy i suppose, you wont get the same quality though.

At the end of the day everyone has different tastes i suppose

Agree with the above comments. We would never return to a restaurant where we didn't have to wait for our meal as the food would obviously have been hanging around for a while. Also, in a couple of restaurants we've had the next course arrive while we're still eating, which is annoying as you then feel rushed.

For us the Sizzler is definitely a restaurant to be recommended. Going to have to stop thinking about curries now as I'm getting withdrawal symptoms

Just got back last night. Spent a lot of time with Hakam and Levant over the last three weeks and had no bad food or service, You just have to remember every cook has his own way of doing things and no two do it the same way.Brian spent the night of his 80th there and had a great evening, even if he didn't like the spotlight being on him,but he wouldn't have gone anywhere else. Thanks boys for giving us a great time, look foward to seeing you in May, Love Brian and Cyn :) :) :) :D :D

Just returned and have to say that all our meals were first class and service was fine. It should be remembered that in this resturant the food is cooked to order with fresh ingredients. No meal will ever be the same as you get at your local balti/chinese as this establishment is not your local balti/chinese . As to service, cooking fresh ingredients takes somewhat longer than boil in the bag or microwaved packs that have been prepared and precooked in a factory as provided in many other establishments.

I think that the ethos of freshly prepared & cooked food is a breath of fresh air and worth the wait.
