Hi BOBUK yeah i'm still waiting and already had the holiday i had to pay twice for. Rang them again last week and they said all paperwork was now being passed on to an assessor and they decide how much i can get back. I was gobsmacked beacause i was told it wold be a full refund, and i borrowed on that to pay for the holiday.

Could i just ask would i be able to claim for the extras i incurred because i couldn't get a flight from my local airport when i re-booked and had to travel by train to Birmingham and also had to stay for one night in a
hotel on our return leg? If so would some kind sole please advise me how i can do this as i paid by debit card for holiday i lost and the extras xx

Hi again,hope you enjoyed your holiday.With your original claim,I suppose it all depends on how much you paid to H4U originally as to what you get back.As far as the extra you had to pay,you should try to get flights,trains etc back from your CC Company as "consequential losses".If they play hard to get,ring the Financial Ombudsman.I rang Huntswood today and they still say another 4-6 weeks,this is since 24th August.

A huge thanks to whoever mentioned that we could claim consequential loss, I think it may have been Sue
I received the refund from my CC company about 6 weeks ago and this morning I received a letter asking me to sign a form as a final settlement in my claim for consequential losses. This is the full price difference between what I paid H4U and my new flights with Jet2. Well done to capital one for this
I would urge anyone who paid by card and has not claimed consequential losses to do. The process is simple and you have nothing to lose except about 10 minutes filling in a form
I hope that others are successful with their claims

Well done.Still having probs with CAA/Huntswood with main claim.Sent off all paperwork originally,including copies of credit card payments,bank statements etc.Then about 3 weeks ago they asked for another copy of the bank statements which I sent.Today another letter asking for more copies of credit card statements.Is it all worth it I ask myself!!!

I think that this is a tactic to put you off. If they can avoid paying out even for one claim they're on a winner. I find that insurance companies are the same unfortunately. Another tactic is to make a low offer first of all, like haggling I suppose, just don't give up.

Thanks JohnG,Peevo and Dragon.Huntswood act on behalf of the CAA.My claim is for the full cost of the Holidays4U flights not the "Consequential losses",I got those paid via my CC Company last week.I have to claim from CAA as my flights were booked through an agent rather than directly with Aegean.It just appears that Huntswood just keep losing my paperwork.

If a third party were involved (agent) you should be claiming off them - surely its not your concern to claim off the administrators, thats what the agents should be doing for you - that's what you've paid them for!

JohnG and Peevo,,I shall be ringing Huntswood on Monday and asking what the hell is going on.Believe me,I have done the CC Company and Travel Republic who took my original booking on numerous occasions and it has all led me back to CAA,who are just being a real pain.I will certainly let you know the outcome.

Oh yes Dragon,they certainly are doing that!
Already been to CC Co. and Travel republic who both advised me to go to CAA who are just being a real pain.Ringing them after 9am to see what the hell`s going on!

Stewart what form do you fill in for consequential losses. Not very good at this I've received my refund from cc but rebooked new flights with debit card. Thank you in advance

We used a letter with three simple paragraphs. The first referring to the fact they've already paid out for the original flights and then ....
'The cost of the original flights with Aegean Flights was £... and the cost of the new flights with Flythomascook is £... I wish to claim the additional amount of £... for the consequential losses I have incurred as a result of the supplier's breach.
I have attached a copy of the booking confirmation from Flythomascook for the replacement flights for your information. Confirmation of the original flights has been forwarded to you previously.' I should be grateful if you would respond to this letter within 14 days.

my 4 flights with aegean £695 which i got refunded to credit card 2 weeks later didnt know about claiming for consequential losses unless i looked on this site so thanks very much,sent letter of today i ended up paying package deal £2300 which i never used
transfer or apartment ,due to booking apartment transfer year advance with deposits so im going for full amount lost 3 days my holiday had travel to manchester airport instead birmingham so fingers crossed .

Little bit confused. I booked my first flights with credit card been refunded. The new flights I booked with my debit card nationwide they can't help me. So who do I claim my conceqential losses from.
