Newcastle is really expensive cos of their taxes. My mam flies down to us and the tax on Newcastle is awful compared to Southampton!

don't think newcastle is that expensive.going on 4th Sept next year (was there same time this year and the weather was perfect) 21 nights hotel accomodation, private transfer, flight with 20kg baggage allowance total cost per person £466 each can't really complain at that I was looking at going to whitby around halloween and for two nights (minimum number of nights accepted) the price ranged from £150 to £200+, sort of puts it into perspective. :D

I wasn't comparing it to whitby - the comparison was with other airports for flights on the same day.

We do southampton newcastle with flybe a lot.The taxes on Newcastle are massive! My brother who still lives there reckons they're the highest in the country. It certainly looks like it. If we could land at southampton both ways.....dream on!

don't mind the taxes at Newcastle (even when compared to other airports) as long as we have the availability to get to icmeler for a perfect holiday at a reasonable price i am happy :D .

Hi juju. If you have a look at jet2 they have good prices. £275 for 11 days from 28th may to 8th June with 22kg luggage. I flew with them in Aug this year and cant fault them. Not booked yet but hoping to within the next week. :D
