Can anyone show me a map of where the Lal is?
We're heading back to
Icmeler for our third time next week and I'd like to try this restaurant as well as Hanedan and Selam, but there is no map or directions on Tripadvisor.
Thanks!

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8& ... 8e86a260a2You'll find the Lal on the map but you won't find the Hanedan Ocakbasi or the Selam. When you find the Lal on the map the Hanedan is more or less across the road, on the corner of 75 Yil Cd and Mustafa Gökmen Cd. We were staying in apartments right behind the Lal and could hear the lovely guitar playing when our windows were open. The reason why you couldn't find it could be that their map hasn't been updated and it used to be called the Meyzan.
We were very disappointed with our meals in the Lal last year so didn't go in there this year. The Hanedan we found to be excellent and will be the first restaurant we will visit next year. I can't remember on which road you'll find the Selam but I'm sure someone will come along with directions for you.

Think twice about Hanedan, read my review - very expensive and very very average

I strongly disagree - the Hanedan was no more expensive than anywhere else, cheaper than quite a few places, in fact - and the food, ambiance and service was way above anything else we had during our holiday. I've now come to the conclusion that different people obviously have very different ideas and expectations, so if certain people hate a place, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it, and vice versa!

We ate twice in Lals this year and both times the food was excellent. On the second occasion there were three other parties in also each of which sent their compliments to the chef as we ate.
Easiest way I can describe to find Lals is imagine yourself standing outside of Tandoori Sizzler facing north from the beach with the sizzler on your left. Walk straight on past the main square, gift shops etc until you see (if I remember correctly) azre or azure jewellers across the main road. Cross the road and just keep on walking, Romance palace is on your right, Hanedans is a junction or two up on your right and lals is on the left hand side opposite

There were five of us when we went to the Hanedan. We were all pleased with our meals, especially the Chef's special. The usual lavaş was even nicer than usual and it's obvious that they put extra ingredients in it. We left it late in the holiday to go there so we were only able to go there twice. For what we ordered we didn't find it expensive but on our second visit we didn't order any starters as it was just too much to eat. If you're looking for entertainment though you won't find it , it's all in the quality of the food and the presentation is outstanding.
Even though we were disappointed with the Lal last year we intend to try it again next year as it's surprising how the restaurants vary from year to year. I seem to recollect that even the chefs move around to different restaurants, not only the waiters.

If you look on trip adviser the "wembley bar" is in the top two resturants !!!
The wembley bar is a bloody pub that sells english breakfasts cheap beer and has dancing waiters, how the hell can a pub be classed as a top restaurant I dont know, well yes I do really, they probably ask/tell customers to vote for them. Whether there are free drinkies involved here ! I will leave it to your imagination. I am certainly not slating the wembley bar it is probably very good at what it does but there is no way can it be classed as a true resturant.
A restaurant to me is on the lines of the LAl, the Winehouse etc and one or two more who simply provide quality food with a relaxing atmosphere where you can talk to each other.
So what I am really saying is do you want a true restaurant or a pub selling pub-grub whilst making a lot of noise ??
Re :- the food in the Hanedan this year, The chef here I do believe was relieved from his duties at the Lal last year.
So what is good or bad food !!!
Just returned yesterday morning and ate at Wembley bar. It was certainly not 'pub grub' we had a lovely meal cooked to perfection and not a dancing waiter in sight
It was a lovely walk into the old village, very peaceful with background music. What happens after 10pm I do not know as we had a leisurley stroll back into
Icmeler after our meal. all in all a lovely evening .
