Well done to former Aegean/Hols 4u staff

Postby Fanny » 23 Aug 2011 12:07

Flew back last night and will post a full review in the next few days. Unlike some, we were fortunate that our repatriation flight with Aegean was still to Manc, although slightly later and diverted via Bodrum.

Thanks must go to the former Aegean staff [lady in the Marmaris office and Frank the Dalaman rep in the Hols4U shirt] Though they both lost their jobs on 3/8/11 when the company folded, they kindly volunteered to stay on to make sure people get back home and are doing all they can to help, and they aren't getting paid for doing that!

Yes, it's frustrating if your homebound flight is delayed/diverted etc etc, but if that's you, please, please remember that these 2 people have been affected too. We saw some shameful scenes yesterday with angry travellers having a go at Frank, swearing and shouting etc. Was impressed with his professionalism and truly wish the pair of them all the vey best in finding replacement jobs.

Thanks Mary
JT - fully agree, so calm and professional, it must be awful for him at the moment esp as he was saying his wife was also employed by Aegean.
Whichever firm takes him on will be getting a real asset!

He's definitely calm and professional. We were beginning to hit our heads against a brick wall when the girl at check-in was adamant that my mobility scooter could not go on the plane as it had the wrong type of battery. Don't know how this happened as it was the right type when we flew out three weeks earlier and all the other years we've been to Içmeler with the scooter! He solved the problem by by-passing her and getting someone to ring her to tell her that she was wrong. He settled it in minutes and was lovely. So sorry to hear that his wife also worked with Aegean and that both of them have lost their jobs.

Frank is worth his weight in gold to do this from the kindness of his heart after losing his job and to put up with the stick he is getting is amazing have never met Frank before but if i do i for one would shake his hand and tell him what an amazing man he is .
