I have stayed at Daystar many times over the years but not this year. Stayed at Eden Gardens but went down to Rhodes a few days as I know Tolga who runs the bar there. Noticed while walking past Daystar that they obviously now do bed & breakfast as they had a table set up with all breakfast buffet style on there. Might be a good idea if you've chosen this as you can stock up at brekkie and last you all day!!
Last year when I stayed there, once on my own and once with my Mum. My solo visit was ok, as my room was really nice and big, balcony over looking the pool and I paid a really cheap price for the room so I was pleased with that. They did hassle me loads which made me want to be elsewhere rather than there but I did always stay for drinks before going out and at the end of the night. Same with my Mum, loads of hassle for food, so we did stay but it was lame. I told the bar manager at the time too.
I am hoping it has changed hands again and the running of it is better. The staff turnover is huge but hopefully they've got it right this time. After saying all of this, if I were to go alone again and they were offering the same cheap prices I would stay there again I think. At the end of the day, it depends what you want from a place to stay, if it is the pool - Daystar pool is lovely. Good size room - their rooms are nice, clean and tidy but do complain it they put you up in the roof, these are not nice at all.
