My heart goes out to everyone that has been affected by this, Not the first time for some.
I booked flights with Jet2 last thursday for June 2012, they haven't been slow to react either, the same flights are £400 more expensive now

We was supposed to have flown on 6th August till 27th August. We tried all over to get another flight after Aegean went down, the prices shot up so quick, they shouldnt be allowed to do that....anyway we managed to get a flight for 2 weeks with t..c,cost an arm and a leg but it couldnt be helped

My deepest sympathies for all affected by this latest episode.
Seems like a double kick in the bo*****S when not only do honest tourists lose their flight and hard earned money but altenative airlines take great sympathy on the masses by bumping their prices up to astronomical levels.

I have had a double kick, due to go out on 7th Sept for a fortnight and booked same weeks for 2012 at the weekend
We have our accomodation and transfers booked with ICR, I presume these will be safe as I really need to be booking more flights if it is .... help!!!!!!

Feelin so sorry for all those affected, it happened to us last year with goldtrail, but we bit the bullet and booked flights on a credit card two weeks before we should have flown, we finaly got our money back around march time and had a fab hol even though we were around £500 out of pocket, it worked for us but it might not work for everyone.

I am so sorry for all affected by this latest crash of yet again another travel company. I agree that it is totally immoral for the other companies to increase prices and hold travellers to ransom. We all work hard for our holidays and to see a wee boy on TV visibly upset at losing his holiday is heartbreaking. I hope those affected manage to get something sorted out. I was about to book for next year with Jet 2 but am now wondering if that is sensible! Who knows any of them can bite the dust!!!!!!!!!

If anyone does book with a company that are not protected, you can buy holiday insurance which specifies cover for airline insovency. If you use an insurance search engine like the one advertised by the small furry animals your list of insurance prices clearly shows whether airline insolvency is included in the cover.
