We got ours on wednesday - 2.72 at cooperative travel with our membership card. Was 2.65 without one. Roll on 3rd september!

It was good considering when I left to go shopping Travel Fx were selling at 2.65 and they have had the highest rate for the past wee or so. Luckily I'd bought some Wednesday at 2,72

Firstly I am not an expert and you follow my opinion at your own risk, I have already lost this year.

We always take a little lira and the rest in sterling. On arrival the cash is straight in the safe, mind you it`s always the same apartments so i have no worries at all.

Phoned first choice yesterday and they offered me 2.46tl to the pound!!
I told them m&s were offering 2.67 and they then said they'd match it!!

So what's it like in Icmeler?

Exchanged £100 start of last week at local cheque place.
Got 2.67. Was happy with rate and it will start us off.
Will take English notes to keep in safe, divided into daily amounts, which I will exchange in local shops as we go.
Found this to be the best way for us.

I don't know about supermarkets in Icmeler but Garanti Bank is 2.76 atm. Travel FX here is 2.68 so it's a better rate in Icmeler but not as good as last week. It's only a small drop though.

UK currently good at around 2.6 lira to £.

just had a look at the inter bank rate (rate at which banks change money between them selves) it has dropped tyo 2.74YTL so should get about 2.65 - 2.70 in resort if you want to keep an eye on it the website I use is http://www.xe.com/ucc

Hi wizard, i am in resort now arrived yesterday just changed money at supermarket under icr office and its 270 at the moment. weather is fantastic very hot ,seems rather quiet for time of year,underground market all gone except tatooist. going to try tandoori sizzler tonight, got my discount card so plenty nice cold effes will keep posting updates on exchange rates as we are here for 2 weeks sue
