Bags packed and very surprised with the weight!!!

Postby Chris221273 » 28 Jul 2011 13:21

Well, me and my good lady have packed our bags.
I have all the toiletries/travel kettle/hairdryer in mine as well as my clothes and my girlfriend has just clothes in hers.
Mine weighed in at........8.6kg's
My girlfriends weighed in at......8.3kg's!!!!

Definitely think taking large holdalls opposed to cases have saved us a lot of weight.

To say I was surprised was an understatement!
And I paid extra for 20kg's each!!!
All the more room to bring goodies home :-)

I opted for holdalls last year and it was the best move i ever did,we also take a bag each as hand luggage as that gives 5k extra. We dont have to worry about travel kettle or hairdryer as they are supplied in the apartments
I am almost packed and i still have 8 sleeps to go :D :D

Sounds unbelievable to me :D
When arriving, my luggage was around 20 kg and daughters luggage around the same. When leaving Dalaman, the weights were 27 and 29 kg... Luckily we had scheduled flights with Turkish Airlines, with weight allowance up to 30 kg!

Everything she has packed is lightweight stuff, tshirts, skirts, summer dresses etc.
I have all the suncreams etc in mine. Plus using a holdall has save a couple of kilos each.
She has 33 items of clothing(including bikinis) 4 belts, underwear and 5 prs of shoes n flip flops.

We bought holdhalls last year and they saved us lots of weight, i think ours weighed 15 & 16 kilos and we had paid for 20 kilos. Best buy we ever made!!

I borrowed one from my brother, and the other one was a camping one.
Have a look on eBay, they had some on there, about 55-60 inches long for about £8.00!!
My girlfriend even fitted In her one and zipped up!! Yep, she's pretty flexible!

I've paid for 2 x 20kg but I'm sure if I had holdalls we'd manage with one as our trolley cases are heavy enough when they're empty!
I've got time to search around on ebay for something lighter, thanks, you've given me something else to obsess over now regarding our holiday, lol!
Have a great time :-)
