what a mistake!

Postby salkk » 07 Oct 2006 09:30

we decided to have a second holiday this year, (the first one as always icmeler). So we looked around online and asked peoples opinions or where to go, and what resort to go to, and Egypt kept popping up, sharm el sheik in particular. So we booked it and have just returned, what a mistake we made, Icmeler is 100 times better. there is more to do, more places to eat and the general atmosphere is way better......
and for the people who think the hassle is bad in turkey, please dont visit egypt its a nightmare, i dont think you can call it hassle, its more like assault, LOL.
Just to sum it up, if i have waffled on for a while, Icmeler is way better than sharm in our opinion, and a few others on the plane.

I have been to Egypt.
Went to Cairo, looked at the Pyramids went to the museum to see Tuts treasures, all in all a fantastic experience.
But Egypt is a culture shock, poverty is rife, beggars are all around you and yes the hasseling is aggresive.

I would go back again to Cairo and would also love to visit the
Valley Of The Kings

has anyone been to Bulgaria as we have a chance to stay next year in a friends house which he has bought over there. Its just we met a man last week and he always goes to Turkey but he tried Bulgaria this year and he said he didn't feel safe and although the drink was very cheap he prefers Turkey. I would be grateful if anyone has any comments.

I think its best if you try it for yourself because everyone has different opinions. On something you love someone else may hate it.So you can always give it a try and never go back again if you dont enjoy it there.

Went there once for our family holidays with two other families.
Got a flight back home after just one week
We were staying in Golden Sands, yes things were very cheap but the food was horrible, the people werent that friendly and on a night there were some very dodgy people wandering about. Even the locals said dont look at them or try speaking to them
So this year we went back to Icmeler for the third time in 17 years, and we all had the most fantastic time.
We are booking up again for next year

Every one has there own views about different countries but when we went to Icmeler 10 years ago the fod wasnot that brilliant then and it was ful of beggars and still is in some parts, give Bulgaria a chance as they are behind the times there in some ways so please give the country time to develop. Bulgaria and Icmeler all have there pros and cons thats why we go to each of them every year as we cannot decide which one to go to each year.

October is not the time to go to Bulgaria it is cold, depends where you went in Bulgaria. There is good and bad in both places, the weather is better in icmeler but the beachs are better in Sunny Beach

we first went to icmeler 10 years ago and i fell in love with the place first time, but i don't remember lots of beggars ( i must have been looking thru rose coulered specs 8) , and when i first tasted lamb in the jug it was lovely, but as some of you have said everyone is different and we all see things differently so as i said before, bulgaria here we come!!
