I agree with you blondie, not going this year[gutted] We love icmeler, i can honestly say its the friendliest place and the safest, i have ever been to. Some people [redroz] need to learn some manners.

well im going back to paradise in 7wks, and to say i cant wait is an understatement !!!! infact im getting really annoyed knowing that icant go right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Spoilt brat syndrome, i think lol
We had 10 days last year of total chill, good food, music etc and the dancing waiters, well such fun guys, and fit !
Cant think of anything better than getting away from the humdrum of normal boring life here, the drag of knowing u get up for work, come home cook tea, etc and the thought thats all you have got for x amount of wks until you arrive in paradise, i know what i find boring and it certainly isnt 2kws in icmeler xxxxxxxxxxxxxx :D

Ultimately it depends what each of us wants from our holiday, for me Icmeler ticks all the boxes .

14-17 days to spend with my wife and children without work and business travel butting in. - YES
Guaranteed Weather - YES
Peace and Quiet (We stay in the old village) - YES
Good Choice of restaurants - YES
Good Food - YES
Good Service - YES
Good value for money - YES
Friendly people - YES
Safe environment - YES
A Selection of Trips (peacful and wild) - YES
Local History - YES

we don't go for the entertainment and normally leave places that have entertainment after out meal anyway and go somewhere for a quiet drink for good conversation.

In defence of Redroz I have been somewhere before and had a great time the first time but didn't enjoy it as much the second time, also I think a one or two of the replies on here are un-called for and could be seen as insulting which have only forced redroz onto the defensive.

This forum is normally very friendly and helpful, lets keep it that way.

My initial thought to redrozs op was to respect their opinion, I then read the post they made on the meetup at sizzlers topic and then thought they are trying to get a reaction by mixing things up insulting people.
I made a sarcastic reply to them not liking Icmeler only after they insulted people on the other topic.
I know realise I took the bait and bit back, silly of me but to late now.

Hi Stewart, I think JT has posted earlier on in this thread that he's keeping an eye on it
Must admit that I was cringing a bit at some of the posts and the way the thread seemed to be going, but it all seems to have calmed down without getting out of hand now
Shame redroz didn't enjoy her return visit and more of a shame that she posted what she did about forumites meeting up
I reckon JT's got it right though, after all when comments are posted, it seems fair enough for ops to be able to respond imho
As Helen's said, we're all friends on here
Have a great time if you're heading off to paradise soon 8)

as an ex sailor i have travelled a fair bit.my other half has been going abroad since she was ten[ we are well above the age of needing baby sitters]so having been coming to Icmeler since the mid 90's, and seeing all the changes that has occurred in the last fifteen years would we go elsewhere. NOT ON YOUR Nelly. for customer satisfaction and friendliness and the chill out factor that we enjoy,Icmeler can not be beaten.every time we have gone to another place.we have spent the holiday comparing resorts, Icmeler always wins. I feel that when Redroz finds her special place she will understand how we feel about our place in the sun

I like you have been all over and must admit Icemeler has a special magic. Redroz will never find her place, she's one of them people who will critise everything/everyone, you gotta feel sorry for her, one sad person, her loss our gain

I think Redroz is totally entitled to her opinion. there is good and bad everywhere and as someone has posted, we can't all like the same place.
I for one, really enjoy Icmeler. We go back because we have made many friends over the years, both Turkish & English and find that the atmospere and the people make our holiday.

i will agree though that i get a bit sick of the same entertainment but we just go to the quieter bars if we want to chill, and the livelier ones if we feel lively, it still wouldn't stop us going because we love the place.

My brother & his wife are coming with us and I have built Icmeler up so much I am worried that they may not like it. But as my brother said he will either love or hate it but i hope its the former. they have only ever been to Spain so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will like it !

I notice that Redroz posts have been removed, it now appears that TannedJulie has started this post which gives the wrong impression, would it not be better to delete the whole topic or at least edit the top of the post to make this clear.

Just a thought

Oh dear. Well, I guess everyone is entitled to sharing their opinion - After all it is a topic discussing forum. Redroz has chosen to share his/her opinion with us. So he/she didn't like Icmeler this time, there's no crime against that. I'm sure Redroz didn't mean it in a 'I'm better than the rest of the world' kind of way, maybe just wanted to see if there was anyone out there who shared his/her opinion.. Probably best not to have posted it on a forum which states everyone loves Icmeler.. But hey! We all make mistakes.
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your holiday Redroz, better luck next time!

We too found it too hot last year,we went in August and the hotel we stayed in did not have a very good aircon system. We still enjoyed our holiday but don't think we saw Icmeler at it's best.We were too hot and bothered to do very much so spent most days on the beach. This year we are going in September ,hopefully a little cooler and we're looking forward to exploring more of Icmeler. We also chose an hotel ,this year, with individually controlled aircon.
Perhaps the temperatures play a part in the enjoyment of our holidays too.
