Anything Turkish on the meal menu' then I will try it.
Also Turkish Pide is a must, just like pizza but crispier base. Lamuchun, sigara borek, many more, but I have not mastered the spelling

I also love the Ottoman Casseroles, another casserole I love is Sac Kavurna, which again is like a casserole you can have it with chicken, lamb or beef, or a mixed one.
Just read through the menu's and look for dishes that contain ingredients that you like, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Like reesy, I go for anything Turkish - when I'm in Turkey, I want to eat Turkish dishes, not what I can get at home.

this fried ice-cream sounds amazing! how does that work???
06 Jul 2011 13:56
ice cream in middle and a sort of sweet dough on outside, then deep fried. You dont want to move too far or fast after you have eaten one!!!! I thought it might remind you of home,,, You fry MARS bars in Scotland.
Have a great holiday.

The one in Venice is lovely

Hi Emma, if you fancy broadening things from burgers and chips, but want something you recognise, Champagne do an excellent steak and kidney pie! and as someone's already mentioned, their shepherds pie is good too - best restaurant in
Icmeler IMHO for getting "ENglish" dishes of this sort right.
Once tried Steak and Kidney pie in the Venice and got steak and liver instead haha - was my own fault though cos Apo kept telling me he couldn't recommend it cos they'd not got it quite right, couldn't tell me why though so I took the plunge and regretted it. Was hilarious at the time! Didn't let it put me off the Venice though - just stuck to their chinese or pasta menu after that

I would recommend the Venice which is down by the canal. Try the Adana kebab. Nothing like a kebab you would get in Glasgow. Comes on a huge plate with rice and a selection of vegetables. Scrumptious.

Hi emmamichelle, there's a thread on here; Favourite Turkish dishes" where we're listing our fave authentic Turk dishes.
There's some really lovely ones mentioned that you might want to look out for on the restaurant menu's or even make yourself!
