Beware ATM Scam....

Postby AlphaPets » 23 Jun 2011 11:06

A traveler staying at Club Tokmak went to use ATM in town. A person pretending to use ATM said it was not working and showed her the way to a working ATM and even offered to change the screen to English. She tapped in her number but was unable to get any money or retrieve her card. Her account is now £500.00 lighter.

Advise that you report to the police and bank and get a picture of helpful scammer

2 scammers carrying out same scam were caught this morning. The earlier person I refer to went to ID scammers, but it was not the same ones. Obviously an organised gang on the loose. Beware and spread the word...

The same thing happened to me last year, when the man showed me what to do as the atm was all in Turkish, however when I put my pin in, the numbers came up on the screen, I was horrified and cancelled my card right away - lucky for me our account was ok.
