1st time in icmeler

Postby alnhgh » 27 Sep 2006 13:17

Arrived back to cold Britain after our first time in Icmeler.
What a fantastic relaxing holiday. We have been reading comments on ICMELERONLINE for the last year and agree with all the good things we have read and can not wait to go back again. We stayed at Elif which was a comfortable hotel with fantastic views and dined at a lot of great restaurants including Kontes,Titanic,Dream boys,Stella show,Majestics,Chill,Lion bar etc;
we never had a bad meal enjoyed The Lion Bar best of all for entertainment and we ended up ther 6 nights during our stay and would like to class all the staff as friends as we were treated like royality the floor shows/Dancing etc; was 1st class.
We understand why people like to go back year after year and will be looking to book again in the next week for June and September 2007. :D

1st time in icmeler

Postby rachel_06 » 27 Sep 2006 13:49

I went for the 1st time back in june this year and i must say that it's the most relaxing holiday and the most enjoyable holiday i've ever been on. I've got family who've been going twice a year now for a number of years and i never really understood why they kept going back year after year but now i can say that having been myself i can see the attraction. Normally after 2 weeks on holiday i'm ready to come home but i could certainly have stayed in icmeler for another week at least.

We stayed at the Baba Sahin in the old town and the apartments were clean, and very well presented. It was also nice seeing how the people in turkey really lived with us being in the old town, and my family who we went with are friends with a turkish family and we all got to go around to their home for tea and cakes. What an experience that was!! You can't fault the turkish though for their hospitality and for them to invite us all around to their home when they didn't really know us just speaks volumes for how generous these people really are.

It's certainly a place that i'll be visiting again.

Pleased you enjoyed your stay! We normally stay in the Efse Inn which is just a few along from you and I have to agree that the Lion Bar and the Three Bells are fantastic! We really enjoyed them both. Also the bar in your hotel always seemed to be jumping aswell!
Glad you enjoyed it and it seems its another one gets the bug! :D

If you are walking along the sea front from the Canal way when you get beside the Aqua it is one of the turns just after there. It is next to the Dream Three Bells. It is always jumping! :D

Or, if you are walking towards the sea from the main square (with the cash machines) turn right just before the Taj Mahal restaurant keep going and it's on the Left.

It's really funny now to see the Dream 3 Bells and Lion Bar trying to out do each other for entertainment.

Karen

From the Selen 2 hotel.

As you come out of hotel turn left to bottom of road then turn right...you will go past "sweet brothers " and "Florida" on the corner.Keep going up this road past "love boat etc"

You will come to "harry's steakhouse" on your left hand side, cross over and go left past harry's.

You will come to "mandalin" and the road curves off to the right, follow this road round and you will come to dream 3bells and lion!

Hope this helps and not too confusing.

Luv Bec xx

First time in Icmeler (and Turkey) for Mr & Mrs weetoony too and it certainly will not be the last. We stayed at the Adler Apartments up the valley beside the Old Town and this was one of the best locations that we have ever found in a seaside resort.

The Adler was excellent and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful and went out of their way to make us welcome and keep us entertained. Ali, Eric, Spider, Elias and Azize and the rest, many thanks if you read this.

The resort centre was excellent and we were never hassled by anyone although we had been warned that this could be a problem although I did hear that it is in Marmaris.

The standard of the restaurants was unbelievable with the Love Boat being a major attraction and we probably had our best meal there but our favourite was Captain Sinbad's in the Old Village where Simon and Sammi spoiled us rotten and the meals were first class too and it was handy for Salim's shaves and massages (next door to the mosque).

All in all a wonderful holiday and if there is such a thing as the Icmeler bug, we have definitely caught it :D :D :D
